Atja nodded. "Yes, that's what it looks like. We dispatched some advanced Hajr-built equipment to Inisha, and it seems they may have begun trading it with other small clusters. There's so many of the nomadic groups, no-one would notice if one went missing."

A New Beginning

Over the past few weeks citizens of earth had noticed a change in the skyline. At first it was just a tall tower, such things were not too out of the ordinary, super towers were a common part of many major cities before the rape. As the days past, however, the towers became far greater, taller, and more than one could be seen in some places.
It had been weeks since the first Baeloaren Constructors arrived, and the archologies were finally ready for habitation.

Madrid Archology - Based around the Madrid region in Spain, will be the largest habitation in Europe, and protect Madrid and much of Western Europe.

New York Archology - Based near New York City, it will be the primary habitation for all citizens left in the Americas. Also, it will serve to protect New York City and much of the north eastern part of the continent from further attack.

Beijing Archology - Based near the old Chinese capital, Beijing, it will be the pimary habitation for all persons living in China in the sorrounding regions.

Sydney Archology - Based in Australia, near Sydney, this archology will be the primary habitation for everyone on the continent, and many of the nearby islands and some of Southeast Asia.

Jerusalem Archology - Set next to the old city of Jerusalem, it will serve to protect the ancient and religiously important city, as well as be the primary habitation for all persons living in the Middle East and Africa.

Pacific Archology (pending a better name) - Located in the middle of the pacific ocean, it is more than twice the size of the other 5 archologies and will take any displaced citizens, and allow space in the other archologies to be devoted to things other than housing (industry, and commercial use).

Public shuttles have already begun transporting the masses to their new homes in the archologies, though the process will take weeks, perhaps evens months.

Our superiors have informed us that Inisha had in fact been trading some Hajr-made construction equipment to the lesser Floater clusters; there are so many of them, and their ties with our power are so tenuous, that if one were to go missing, it would not be noticed. We can only surmise what horrors occured to those inhabitants of whatever unlucky Cluster was captured. But one more reason to destroy this menace.>>

The Director noticed the buzzing that had continued even after the conference he had with the Veithans. Something else was up. When he checked with his hosts, he learned the reason. He was not the only head of state visiting the Veithans. In between meetings and discussions, he made a request to meet the visiting Prince. After all, a friend of a friend could become useful.

Ark Sector
Ravenlock Controlled Worlds

Radim read through the pages of reports in his quarters. Civilians from the Consortium were pouring into the new “Ark” sector. Once the Monacorans were done on the ground, the tidal wave of humanity would come crashing down. Each system in the Consortium proper was donating a percentage of their System Defense Grids for use in defending the Ark Worlds. The new ships just finishing construction were to take over for Alpha Fleet in safeguarding the worlds, while Radim and Alpha Fleet went off to go find and kill the Mechanoids.

The first ships to come, however, had been Q.U.E.S.T. Inc. vessels, carrying Quantek specialists to study the Arcane Artifacts below. Of special note were the portals. The Q.U.E.S.T. scientists had wanted to study them for years, but the order from the Director had come down. They were to be annihilated. Equipment was made ready, and soon the gates would be drained of all magical power, and then, if possible, taken from the planets and thrown into the respective suns.

The details about the Dra’kol and the system Gas Giants was merely skimmed. The less time spent thinking about the Dra’kol, the better.

Although the revelation of the similarities between the mechanoid shipyard facility and those employed by the Ousters had created quite a stir, the courtesy hail from the Gladsheim fleet was not overlooked. The vice-admiral herself replied, opening up a secure channel to her Gladsheim counterpart.

”It seems that while we have achieved our primary goal, we have gathered more questions rather than more answers. The Monacoran and Ouster ground forces appear to have secured the installation. I am more than content with waiting here for the time being. It is good to have your company as we all await answers to our questions.”

The Veithan task force floated in space quietly, the defense drones that it had deployed recall to the fleet itself and then within their home vessels. The sensor drones remained in their current position, they would be withdrawn back to their bays only before the fleet would move out. Personally, the Vice-Admiral was a supporter of the bonds between the Veithan Empire and the Gladsheim. It pleased her that if worse came to worse; she would have at least a reliable ally to work with.

Arcane Empire withdraws from galaxy!

Our continuing coverage over the allegations of arcanist collusion with the mechanoids is completed today as the elements within the Veithan government confirm that the arcane empire has seized to exist. According to information made available to us by the Veithan government and independently confirmed through various external sources, faced with the allegations of their treachery the arcane empire withdrew from this “plane of existence” and simply vanished leaving their worlds devoid of any arcane presence. The only arcanist members still in our galaxy are a handful of people, most notably Karsus, a member of the ruling council that has seeked shelter with the Atlanteans and the infamous Dalamar, who languishes in a Monacoran prison for the murder of a GCN reporter.

The arcanist move to so call “plane shift” and leave their territories behind has been quoted by some VNN analysts as being “admitting guilt at best, downright stupidity at worse.” In essence, the arcane empire has seized to exist and with their disappearance have all but acknowledge that the allegations against them were likely accurate. There was not a great deal of time wasted by foreign nations, a feeding frenzy ensuing as the formerly arcane worlds were depopulated. The realm of the Blood King and the Ousters, along with the nation of Monacora, the Ravenlock Consortium and the Veithan Empire all claimed various formerly arcane territories.

The formerly arcane worlds are now controlled by multiple star nations, promising that the area of space will be well guarded and possibly a hub of activity to come. The Veithan Empire claimed the formerly arcane homeworld of Al-Quadim; unsurprisingly this world was the psychic heart of the arcane empire. The Empire also claimed two nearby systems, which it renamed to Sharis and Yvela. In a surprising move, the Empire made the gas giants within its annexed systems available to the Gladsheim Empire. A senior military official had this to say. “The move while sudden makes a lot of sense. The Empire and the Gladsheim are allied, and for this to move to have taken place it hints as to how warm the ties that currently exist between both powers are. Furthermore, both nations benefit from the move as a penetration on one system, now directly threatens two distinct nations.”

Myheri Republic and Star Nation of Manasa Expand

The Myheri Republic and Star Nation of Manasa local powers neighboring the Veithan Empire have apparently begun to expand their borders. The expansion has been met with no criticism from the Veithan government, suggesting that the Empire is unconcerned by the expansion. Members of the Myheri and Manasan government have asserted that the moves are defensive in nature, meant to “close off” any current existing soft spots in their defenses and possible approach vectors to their territories. Furthermore, according to officials in both nations, the moves will also concentrate on scattering any possible pirate shelters within the systems in question. A senior Veithan official had this to say when approached with the question. “The Veithan Empire does not feel concerned with the expansion of the Myheri and Manasan nations. The empire was approached in advance about the moves, which should improve security for both nations and hinder if not prevent any pirate activity in the area.”

Sixth Fleet Launched

The completion and launch of the Veithan sixth fleet dominated news in our area of space. The scale of the current Veithan mobilization has not surprised many analysts, considering the amount of murans and attention that the government has been lavishing upon the stellar navy. One hundred and twenty escort ships, along with seventeen cruisers and five super capital ships were built, of those most of allocated to sixth fleet. The sixth fleet will be in maneuvers in Veithan space for what officials call “a prolonged period of time.”

Although the completion of the sixth fleet would seem to suggest that the Empire would ease on warship production, there are indications that this will not be the case. Shipyards within the empire remain in wartime production, work continuing around the clock as new vessels begin to be constructed. The realization that the Veithan navy will continue to expand has aroused some concern around the public information grids. When approached by this news, a senior military official had this to say. “With the threat of the mechanoids hanging over the head of the galaxy, our expansion makes perfect sense. We have no idea how many mechanoid ships lurk in the void, and until we have a better idea of what we are up against, it would be foolish to consider a slow in production. Furthermore, we have to consider our expanding territories and our military obligations to our widening sphere of influence.”

The fleet floated close to the Veithan fleet, it's fighter swarms moving around the main body as if they were bird swarms. Perfect coordination. GRanted, it was quite showy, but also effective.

The colonel flashed hand symbols to one of his engineers, who then moved out of the room coming back thirty seconds later with a small tablet computer,

"Here, this computer has a Nav Chart with worlds on it, canyou interface with it?"

(OOC: The computers uses as its main points Earth, some planets controlled by various powers, and numerous uninhabited/uninhabitable systems. It also has no means of communication outside of its internal system besides a physical hook-up.)

Once the hookup to the immobile Construct was made, the display lit up. Starting out in what was known as the Delta Quadrant, a single red blip pulsed quietly.

"000-001." Spoke the Programmer reverently.

Then the screen began to show more. Red dots spread like wildfire across the Galaxy; dozens, then hundreds, leaping towards the thousands or higher as it blazed in all directions through the Galactic Disc, coming towards Known Space.

"The realms of the Overseer."

"I see, thank you. Would it be possible for you to tell us how many war-ships the overseer controls?"

At the same time he was giving hand signals to the engineer who had handed him the tablet, the engineer took the tablet and rushed off. A minute later Santiago in the ships above had a screen-shot of the supposed holdings of the overseer, and was soon thinking about what to do about this unforseen complication.
