While the general election date is specified by federal law, it's left up to each state to set it's own primary election date.
I believe that New Hampshire even has a law that automatically moves their primary back if another state tries to have one at the same time or earlier than they do.
I'm normally an opponent of involving the Feds in things, but in this case perhaps a federally mandated national primary date would be preferable.
Presidential Primaries: Who did you vote for?
Moderators: Alyrium Denryle, Edi, K. A. Pital
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Incorrect. Montana doesn't get to participate until OCTOBER.EmperorSolo51 wrote:Since the primaries and caucuses are all over

Re: Presidential Primaries: Who did you vote for?
Incorrect. I have yet to get a chance to vote in either Presidential primary. Montana is one of the last states to get the chance to vote in them.EmperorSolo51 wrote:I think you are refering the the state primary not the Presidential one.Alyeska wrote:Incorrect. Well horray. The primaries aren't this comming weekend, they are the next weekend. Montana finaly gets to voice its say in an election that has already been decided hence our votes have been invalidated even if they aren't denied. Don't you just love it when the primaries are so fucking spread out that the last few states get ignored completely?

Closed primaries, and since I'm an independent......

Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

What really pisses me off is that Dean promised he wouldn't take his name off the ballot because he wanted everyone to be able to have their voice heard. Well I didn't see his name on the ballot.
