Ray, that picture was really cool ... the first time you posted it. It's starting to get old.

Hell yes. The frickin' EARTH ALLIANCE would whip his ass,RayCav of ASVS wrote:Him
let alone the Federation.
Did you miss the part of the film in which the Dinobots tear boulder-
sized gashes in Unicron's skin with low-velocity physical impacts
(tail swipes)? Or the Dino who breathed "fire" and easily melted
through the same hull?
The only thing that didn't seem real effective against Uni was
Transformer-style "lasers." And frankly, those weapons *suck.*
In "Call of the Primitives," of the season following the movie,
the Autobots and Decepticons were doing battle on Luna, and
both sides were afforded impenetrable cover from a pile of
Lunar-style sand dunes. Shots from both sides, notably those
coming from mighty Galvatron, failed to even kick up dust!
Hand phasers can do better than that, for God's sake.
I loved the Transformers, but this magical treatment of the
Matrix and awe of Unicron's size (not all that impressive...
he's no more than 10 km tall in the movie) is, to be blunt,
a little silly. The Matrix itself didn't do anything except make
Unicron's systems self-destruct. Big deal...detonate a nuke in
his lap, and the EMP might do the same thing. That's something
a single TIE Bomber could do!
By extension, so could Starfleet, if not with nukes, then
with sheer firepower. You could easily rig a *Runabout* to
incapacitate Unicron. We know his eye lenses are just big pieces of
a glass-like material (that Quintesson ship blew right through them),
so load your Runabout with some nasty explosives, phaser out
the eye, and fly into his body. Detonate the explosives and
watch the parts fly.
At least, I *assume* blowing up his head would do the job.
His head seemed to contain much of his cognitive functions,
evident in the fact that the thing managed to talk to people
and do stuff after it was decapitated.
And Ray, it is a neat picture. Since I've never seen it before
I'm impressed But, how come Scorponok is so tiny? In
the cartoon, he was a giant robot.

Well there's always comic Unicron who is the god of chaos. He consumed the previous universe except for one speck which exploded in the big bang.Though Trek always seems to kill gods...

Tried and failed. Remember when Jazz and Spike detonated their moon base inside Unicron's maw?seanrobertson wrote:By extension, so could Starfleet, if not with nukes, then with sheer firepower. You could easily rig a *Runabout* to

In the comic, which the pic is based on (notice Powermaster Optimus Prime), Scorponok was no larger than any of the other Decepticon leaders.seanrobertson wrote:And Ray, it is a neat picture. Since I've never seen it before I'm impressed But, how come Scorponok is so tiny? In

Yes, definitely. But his maw would probably be more heavilyGalvatron wrote:Tried and failed. Remember when Jazz and Spike detonated their moon base inside Unicron's maw?
armored than any other part of his body...and to be very
hard-assed about it, we really have no idea how large of
an explosion we saw. The TFs never displayed the ability
to harness or utilize energy even on a nuclear scale...the
Decepticons were constantly at a waterfall using hydro-power
to satisfy their energon needs (at least early on). To
be sure, a semi-functional moon will require a lot more juice,
but how much more?
Interesting. I've only known him as a snarling monster-like thing,In the comic, which the pic is based on (notice Powermaster Optimus Prime), Scorponok was no larger than any of the other Decepticon leaders.
save for his scheming, nasty Nebulon "headmaster."

They did, toward the very end of the film. They didn't do a lotRayCav of ASVS wrote:I didn't see anything in the movie about Dinobots fighting Unicron or taking heads...
of damage by any means, but they were able to penetrate
Uni's hull.
The talking head thing comes from after the movie,
beginning in a multi-part series featuring the Quintessons,
an energy bereft Decepticon bunch, Cyclonus, Scourge, and
the Sweeps looking for Galvatron, etc. The head "groans";
Cyclonus says, "Must be the wind..." Scourge replies,
"There is no wind in space!"
Later, the head is fully functional, and promises to restore
Starscream's "ghost" to life if he will attach Uni's head to
Cybertron.
I don't know the episode names...I think the series right
after the film was "Five Faces of Death" or something
similar, though.
