Dreadnaughts
Is there anything about Dreadnaughts that isn't covered in EGVV or the HTTE Trilogy? I've been poking around lately for info and imagery, but I'm coming up with the same old stuff every time. Kinda curious if anyone has any arcane information (even if it's from RPG material) that isn't covered in the "standard fare."

What are you looking for? You say you want other stuff that covers it, but if it simply covers the same thing, then what's the point? You want something specific?
History? I love history! First, something happens, then, something else happens! It's so sequential!! Thank you first guy, for writing things down!

That's really about all there is, to be honest. At least that I know of.
Most of the information being circulated around primarily originates from the RPG materials.

Twas an older OPT that had the landing bay in line with the long axis of the ship. When you left the ship (Xwing Alliance) you have to literaly dive the second you were clear and free to navigate.
The newer OPT from XWU has a more traditional side opening on it.
I know it is all game mechanics and thus irrelevant, but I've always liked that 'design flaw' in the OPT. It was fun.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

My bad, it was an older OPT from XWU not the original from the game. I wish I still had it but I replaced it with the newer one when it came out.RogueIce wrote:

Hell, the one I was talking about, had a 'DIVE' painted on the edge of the landing bay. It was cool, if not a very good design.

That would've been cool to see though. Did the original even give you a bay?

Predominantly technical images (RPG blueprints, perhaps?) or more specific technical information than just "X guns, X length, X manufacturer."Super-Gagme wrote:What are you looking for? There are sufficient surface details on the EGVV diagram to suggest that there are individual drop-hatches on that ventral landing section which would drop fighters out from either side, facing down, relative to the ship. It's not depicted like this anywhere so far as I know, but I figure it makes more sense than having your pilots dive or blow up.Knife wrote:Hell, the one I was talking about, had a 'DIVE' painted on the edge of the landing bay. In the original game? No, I don't think so. Thats one of the reasons I downloaded it from XWU.RogueIce wrote:

Are those the little slit like things running along the keel of the ship? I always just though that they were hardpoints or something for Tie racks.McC wrote:There are sufficient surface details on the EGVV diagram to suggest that there are individual drop-hatches on that ventral landing section which would drop fighters out from either side, facing down, relative to the ship. Re: Dreadnaughts
There's some glib in the Decipher card game about how the Dreadnaught was used to enhance TIEs in battle, but I can't even recall which set it came from.McC wrote:Is there anything about Dreadnaughts that isn't covered in EGVV or the HTTE Trilogy? Nope, that's actually one of the things I already have. Thanks, thoughnightmare wrote:This what you are looking for?
Ideally, something like Straha's diagram of the Nebulon-B is what I'm looking for, or something along similar lines. Internal stuff, or something you don't see in the currently common material.

Unfortunately, I don't think that WEG or WotC have ever done internal diagrams of the Drednaught.
They actually didn't do many of them at all, in general (particularly for capital ships), and most of the time reserving them for specific (often greately modified) craft.
