Reagan's condition worsens....

Post by MKSheppard »

Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. "He really took a downslide today," the insider told Finke Friday evening. "Doctors are at the house. Things aren't good." At the start of the day, several news organizations chased down a rumor that the ex-president had died, but it wasn't true... Family members gathered at the Reagan's Bel Air home late Friday... I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

I know you like the guy- but don't overblow his importance.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Regam was a great presidennt. It is sad that due to Alzheimers disease he does not remember his great achievments.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Whatever you may think of his presidency, no man deserves to die from a disease like Alzheimers.

It's worse than that, actually.
The sad thing for his family is that he was in such good physical health. Major medical problems can be seen as a merciful thing in the case of Alzheimer's, in the hope that things aren't drawn out.

If he's in the final stages, he's basicly starving to death, brain function deteriorates so far that there is no muscle control in the throat.

I sincerely hope that no one here ever has to go through the experience of a loved one having Alzheimer's.

Its possible to insert a catheter into the stomach bypassing the need for the patient to swallow. Liquid food and water can sustain him that way.

But its not a life worth living. :(

Ah shit. He was a good man, a great President, and no one should suffer like this nor their family.

I know a pair of people who have the disease, but it is not yet as bad as Regeans. It is sad, yes.

I never thought he was a great president, but he was the right man at the right time. Besides, no good person ever deserves such an illness. I am watching dimentia slowly take away my grandmother. Its not a pretty sight.

If he's lucky, he's probably in no pain physically or mentally and is completely oblivious to his memory eroding away like that. Most ALzheimer's patients I have seen are happy as clams even if they can't recall what they talked to you about an hour before.

It's soul destroying for friends and family, but as long as they aren't suffering.

Heard on the news that he's got some pneomia (sp?) too. So sad, but as his wife supposedly said today "It won't be long now."

Really sad.

Oh crap :(

RIP Ronald Reagan.
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

I'm glad that his family (especially Nancy) no longer has to watch him suffer, but this is still a very sad day.
