Would rather you use the MACOs or the ARC-troopers?

Post by Lord Revan »

Would rather use the MACOs or the ARC-troopers when

1. trying to rescue a VIP from a disabled enemy ship.
2. trying to raid a POW camp.
3. trying to destroy a enemy weapons factory.

both have all the toys they have, but can't have easy victories (like beam all the enemies to space.)

PS. I would use the ARC-troopers.

Uh... the ARCs have SW tech, far superior training, and are absolutely ruthless.

This is no contest.

But ARCs don't even think to consider the people they killed, even after battles. If Sarah Connor had been an ARC, she would have blasted Dyson's brains out in T2, and not been overwhelmed by a crying and cringing family.

It wasn't too funny. :P I learned to use smileys a long time ago. Around here, you can't be sure at all what people will and will not get.

if you mean MACOs and the ARCs, then

1. MACOs are elite commandos in ST:ENT
2. ARC troopers are elite commandos of the old republic. (SW)

I've never seen ENT, but unless the MACOS have

1) excellent battle communication
2) excellent weapon flexibility
3) an understanding of covering fire
4) armour, NBC protection
5) cool capes

then they're screwed. ARC troops actually inspire confidence.

MACOs are far and away the best troops ever seen in Star Trek, even better than many troops in other universes. But they can't hope to compete with normal Clonetroopers, let alone ARC Troopers.

Are the ARC clone troopers the ones we see in the upcoming Republic Commando game ?

No, ARC's are these guys HERE. The one's in Republic Commando look completely different.

Of course, once the game comes out they may lump the two groups together.

ARC troopers were seen in the Clone Wars cartoon.

I hope not, since in the starwars.com timeline the ARCs are still in stasis during the Republic Commando game.

ARC Troopers have done far too impressive feats to do anything but die laughing at MACOs.

ARC troopers have better armour than standard and their choice of weapons paired with the best instruction in their style of combat available. MACO's would have to be incredible just to keep up with them.

All three scenario's taken by ARC troopers

Question!

Are the MACO the soldiers that have that expandable baton/taser?

If so, then those are some nice toys wouldn't you agree?

IIRC, the games have the ARC Troopers as the best troops, with Republic Commandoes next down on the totem pole.

Ok, I wasn't aware of that. Nice to see that Lucas Licensing is trying to maintain some sort of hierarchy of competence among the Republic's armed forces.

They are good by Federation standards but these weapons would not be much useful against the much better equipped ARC troopers.

I agree completely. Except they're not facing off against each other.

The first two objectives sound more like counter-terrorist operations. I have a feeling both forces would accomplish the mission with the unfortunate side effect of blowing up everything in sight. :) I'd go with the ARC Troopers.

Does anyone have any kind of data on these 'MACOS', like say some screen grabs of them in action and their equiptment?
