Is it canon that ET is a SW alien? Anything else?

ET is a SW alien, according to both universes. Note that in ET, ET reacted to a Yoda costume, implying strongly that they were from the same area, and that he had previously seen a member of Yoda's species.

When E.T. appears in Ep. 3, then he's canon. And when E.T. appears in Ep. 3 I will slowly baste him in cheese over a plasma torch and leave him for the rats to devour.

I thought the whole ET/Star Wars cross over was a wonderful tip of the hat from one fanatstic sci fi writer to another. Both GL and Speilberg have forever changed the face of sci fi in the movies, and of course have also influenced the literature that followed. I wonder what a Spielberg directed Star Wars would be like?

My best guess is that the two story tellers would not coordinate very well. They are best friends, but their styles are too different to be effective in such a venture, because BOTH depend so heavily on their views that compromise becomes ineffective.

However, the ET crossovers were touching parallels by both writers, and I thought of it as being a really nice gesture between the two of them.

Okay that is the second time that someone has mentioned that, where the hell is this senator exactly?

In the senate chamber in Ep1 you can clearly see a booth of E.T's.

My question is where the hell have I seen the avian race with tall crests that were in the senate in Ep2 before?

You see, I think it'd be cool if E.T. was part of the ExGal Society or something similar, and he was a Jedi; that's why he had those superpowers, and that's why it was so important for his compatriots to return for him. Also, the way E.T. talks is how SW Basic really sounds.
The fact that in the E.T. universe there are Yoda costumes and SW action figures is just proof that George Lucas is an alien telepathic genius.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

I believe Spielberg had expressed interest in doing a Star Wars movie ( perhaps that was just a rumor). I think another ET movie would allow Spielberg to include Star Wars elements, at least. If GL could use ET in his movie, Spielberg should be allowed to use some Star Wars elements in his. That could create an interesting movie. I haven't thought about how he would do this though.

Spielberg has said that he will never do a second ET film. He doesn't see a need for one, and thinks that another film would ruin everything.

The problem isn't that Spielberg wouldn't like to make a SW movie, I think it has something to do that Lucas has basically told some big movie syndicate to go fuck themselves and Spielberg belongs to it so he wouldn't be allowed, or something like that.

One explanation could be sheer coincidence. After all, there are humans in the SW galaxy, but it doesn't mean they're from Earth. Hell, for all we know, they only just happen to look like humans. Not like what Darkstar proposed: that they might have metallic vertabrae (I still don't get that one, I had to write one of Spanky's retorts to Darkstar for him back then, because he was too dazed and bamboozled after reading it), but more like genetically. Then again, we can't be 100% certain some of their bodies are different (how about their genitals bearing more resemblance to birds or lizards? )...

[father-son talk]
"Daddy, is that why we didn't see Anakin's and Padme's honeymoon scene?"
"Yes Johnny. It's because in Star Wars, they do it like the chickens do."[/father-son talk]

...
Whew, I think I've met my quota for making akward comments. I think I'll go and come back later.

That explanation isn't as fun though.
