What Horror Movie Franchise do you feel is the best?

Well, with Halloween so close, I thought this would be appropriate.

I can't decide between Halloween, Hellraiser, or Phantasm.

I actually think that the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is probably the most valuable. Freddy is an interesting, reliable character and the writers for the most part aren't utter hacks.

I think it goes without saying that Bruce Campbell is cool. I even forced myself to finish the horrible Evil Dead: Hail to the King on Playstation and slog through Tachyon: The Fringe on PC just to hear his trademark one-liners, and dutifully watched Jack of All Trades even though it was a horrible show. There's just something about Sam and Bruce that is gold to me.

And, for any flight-sim fans who have Tachyon - employ God Mode! It's hilarious when he quirps at you, "Hey, you...yeah. Mr. Cheater? Cheat much lately?"

I've enjoyed the Hellraiser and Nightmare movies but I voted for the Phantasm series just because Phantasm II was so cool and gave me the creeps.

I never found any of the above movies to be scary. I personally thought Child's play was more comedy than horror
