holy shit, they remade it. I wonder if they just updated the visuals and sounds or added bonuses to the levels to so it's not exactly the same game. . .

As far as I can see Maniac Mansion is the same, but Zak McKraken is not. Actually Zak McKraken seems to be an entirely new game.

Actually, I've seen these visuals before in an official remake, although it had problems being played under Windows. But a DirectX port? Sweet!

Both are fan games made with the Adventure Game Studio. "The New Adventures of Zak McKracken" is just the graphics ripped from the FM Towns console (some japanese console, I guess from the time of the "PC engine" or something - no other version of Zak had this graphic quality) used to make some silly parody of the game (like Quest For Glory 4 1/2 or sumthin) with adult content and shit.

Maniac Mansion is a fan remake.

How "legal" are these, supposedly? Not that I'm complaining, but the thread title says "legal".
