Here you have to come to Mike's attention, and he has to recognize it as being appropriate. The only other way is for the community here to vote you a title, and for the request to be submitted to Mike. That's how we changed Akira's title.

Download the Gimp and then save it at a lower quality setting. JPEG files at 100% quality are usually indistinguishable from 80% quality, and they're many times bigger. My own avatar is only a couple of kB.

With avatars you can sog it down to 50% easily.

It's not directed at anything, it's just cool I think, you don't have to treat the title area as an actual title you know, you can put whatever you like there.

If I was going to pick a title, I'd want something like 'SD.Net Director of Spookology' to reflect my unusual hobby of collecting and telling ghost stories. Course, there's no real place on this board to either a) tell ghost stories or b) shoot down arguments for the existance of ghosts.

Hey, wait a minute. I wonder if I could do a Star Wars ghost story? That would be bizarre, but not really in the flavour of a fanfic, would it?
