TO: Leego Diama, Krell Fleet Command, Nexus
FROM: CNS Aegis

Fleet in S3. S4 scouted. No significant military presence found. Reports of fleet engagement between Nashtar and Overseer reported. No outcome known as of yet. Trends in colonization indicate the presence of developed worlds in S7. Will arrive in S7 in one week if current speed continues.

TO: CNS Aegis
FROM: Leego Diama

Continue at present course. Cut all communication with allied fleets. The Combine, and no others, will finally destroy the Overseer and avenge Earth. Let none share in our glory. All will fear the Combine, and we shall profit. This is to be our greatest hour. Push on with all haste.

-ooc- I realize I might be moving this a bit quick, but I think we all just want to finish this. Any problems, Nitram?

Obadiah Huq sighed as he ran back to his APC. Second time in one day this had happened...

Across the city, weapons went on full alert. The enemies had changed, but the plan haddn't.

Casualties:98 percent of the civilian population of Halo, unknown damage to mining centers, complete destruction of surface-side Manifold. Transmissions to the 13 have not been replied to. Possible scenarios: Catastrophic desutruction of subsurface facilities. Energy grid status: nonfunctional. Planetary shield overloaded. Surface armaments: 56 percent intact, but non-functional.Thauglor paused as his sensors swept over the barren landscape of Halo, twinging ever so slightly at the blasted remains of Manifold. They had arrived too late. It was foolish of them to leave Halo undefended, but what was done was done. Even though the populance had fled underground, the destruction of the power grid must have interfered with the subterranean shielding, and so the tunnels collapsed, bringing down a million tons of rock onto the R'hllorans huddled inside. Even the 13's well protected chamber seemed to be destroyed. But it mattered little. Savant Kr'zhgyr and his underlings claimed command of the fleet, and they decided, in a series of prolonged arguements, to leave Halo. He said they should turn back to their own galaxy, and leave this war-torn part of space. Most agreed, and so off went over 3/4s of the R'hlloran fleet, bound for the edge of the galaxy. But the remaining command AIs were still fanatically 'loyal' to the R'hllorans, and they viewed Savant Kr'zhgyr as a traitor. So they stayed behind, to watch over the ruins of Halo, until their power systems failed, or an ally of the R'hllorans contacted them. Thauglor sighed for the first time in his vast life. He could not remain, he knew. An AI as advanced as he could not fall into ANY other hands, be it ally or enemy. And so, detaching himself from the ship surrounding him, he cut power to his processing core, and shut off.

One of the remaining command AIs replied in a monotone voice
There are no R'hllorans remaining alive, at least none we can get to. However, you may take command of the remaining fleet, as those are the orders given to us by our masters: If in any case the greater whole of the R'hlloran race is killed, turn yourselves over to a trusted ally and deactivate. You may claim us now, Monocorans.[/i]

Admiral:
The President of the Union arrived at the capital of the United Protecterates to be escorted to the meeting with Lord-Protector Matthews. He had come with others, of course: an advisor, a Union Intelligence representative/agent, and a half-dozen Special Service Agents for protection.

He had come on the Presidential cruiser; the official word was he was conducting 'trade negotiations'; he figured he'd better throw in a few minor points in regards to trade. And if relations with the UP were to be improved, there were those 'white elephant' cutters which the military brass wanted to get rid of.

He wondered if he should reveal his telepathic abilities to Lord-Protector Matthews BEFORE negotiations began.
A battalion of Marines stood honorguard has the Union's President landed on Lastport. The landing pad had been a mountian peak once, until the UP had seen fit to cut it flat and turn it into a landing pad. Rifle's snapped to salute has the Presidental party left their ship. Sir Brian Mattews waited smiling. He brushed off an imaginry speck of his void black tunic with the crossed rifles and sword in a powered armored hand on the right breast.

"Mr. President, welcome to Lastport. If you'll follow me, I'll take you to Lord Protector Mattews. He's just finished a meeting with an ambassador from an alien nation that made first contact just recently. I understand you requested a private meeting?"

The destroyers guarding the Dreadnought formed a literal shield, moving between the huge ship and the oncoming storm, and all seven ships let their point defense free to rip into the obvious signs of a mine firing it's rocket motors.

Doomed or not, the Dreadnought was surviving the storm so far, and aimed one of it's massive railguns at the enemy carrier. Why, after all, should it not receive some fun? Several other guns joined it, and began lobbing shells into the least-defended part of the huge ship:

It was hard to stop the momentum the destroyers already had, but that was a double-edge sword. They had limited maneuverability now, little more than hulks of steel adjusted by atmospheric venting. Most missed wildly or were shredded into a hail of shards. Only one actually hit the target, a mostly-intact hull smashing into the Warrior from an unexpected angle.

NRS Gladius

The ship shuddered as the destroyer hit. The shields flared and died as the destroyer forced its mass against them. The ruined and burned Machine ship bored on, crumpling against the hull.

"Damage report!"

"Conn, damage control. Guns 19 through 24 on the port side are damaged and nonfunctional, as are torpedo tubes 7 and 8. Hull breaches in sections 27,30, 32, and 33, airtight doors are already closing. Major structural damage to the impact area. She's going to need a lot of time in the repair yard, sir. Engines still functional. Life support functional. We'll live for the moment, sir."

"Helm, rotate the ship on its axis, bring the starboard side to bear. Come right to 342."

"Aye, sir." The ship began to rotate its undamaged side towards the main bulk of the enemy fleet as she moved to follow the Dauntless.
OOC: The biggest one that has the largest amount of signals coming from it.
NRS Enterprise

The carrier shuddered as she started taking railgun hits to the shields. Admiral Fisher not being a total idiot, her port side was turned towards the battle, and the armored hangar doors there were closed; the starboard hangars were open to take in fighters for rearming and repairs, but they were facing the hell away from the dreadnoughts. The carrier's own railguns began concentrating on the dreadnought, retasking from firing at targets of opportunity.

On the bridge, Admiral Fisher finished the tasking orders he'd been giving before the dreadnought had started flinging shots at his flagship in preference to more immediate threats. The ships he'd been communicating with began to form up as he turned. "Helm, increase speed to two-thirds. CAG, retask Ford and Heron squadrons to attack the dreadnought, standoff tactics. That point defense is too good to send them in close."

The carrier accelerated as the named B-95s peeled off to unleash their payloads of missiles towards the offending dreadnought. Several pilots even triggered their cannons, going for a hit across the vast distances of space as their missiles streaked forward, jinking and jamming as they went.

"Casualty reports on the fleet?"

"Sir, we've lost 5 Starlight class destroyers, one Solar Flare minelayer, 7 Dawn Raider class frigates, and two Sun Striker carriers. Gladius has suffered extensive damage to her aft port superstructure from a ramming ship. Most of Dauntless's sensors have been shot out. We've lost multiple fighters and strike fighters, with casualties most heavy in the A-127s and F-235s. The enemy has lost multiple destroyers, and has a light battleship and a dreadnought dead in space, with one other dreadnought damaged to an undetermined extent. Exact figures on enemy casualties are unknown at this time."

Fisher clenched his fists as his carrier shuddered from another volley.

NRS Antares

Commander Coleman, captain of this Starlight class destroyer, flinched as a volley of light railgun shells from an enemy destroyer traced down his ship. His shields had failed a minute before, and he'd been maneuvering wildly, using his ship's speed in an attempt to avoid solid hits. He watched as a Dawn Raider frigate went up a few kilometers away, a few escape pods shooting off before it was converted into a fireball by further Machine salvos. That would be him next if he wasn't careful... "Helm, hard starboard and down. Guns, retask to the destroyer at 183 mark 10; its looking a little shaky." The ship shook from another hit.

"Sir, hull breach on Decks 12 through 14, section 7! Airtight doors closing."

"Aye," acknowledged Coleman as the rumble of his own ship's guns replied, sending shells toward the offending enemy ship. Four A-127s shot past, looking to put missiles into the destroyer he was currently firing on. Two were destroyed immediately, only having fired two missiles each. One of the pilots ejected. The other two unloaded their last rockets and turned to get away; a third broke up as a rapid-fire laser traced through it, collapsing its navigational shielding on the third hit. The pilot ejected, but was hit by his bird's port wing. Only the fourth escaped.

"Bring the nose up, reverse the dive." He didn't think his ship would last much longer, and he wanted to give his crew a chance to escape should the ship start to break up. His guns continued to roar angrily at the damaged enemy destroyer. "Stand by missiles. They won't get through, but at least it'll tie up some PD guns. Fire the next time a group of fighters approaches a Machine ship, make them choose between the fighters and our missiles."

"Aye, sir."

Orodan, Nashtar Republic

The first new capital ship, a Claymore class battleship christened Black Prince, slid out of its construction berth. The other two battleships and the two Venture class carriers would reach completion over the next week. Black Prince was to be assigned to Third Fleet after her shakedown cruise and subsequent maintenance. She could be on the front lines if necessary within three weeks, presuming no major problems with the shakedown.

Orodan, Nashtar Republic

Orders for warships started coming in from the government. The campaigns against the Machines and the recently completed occupation of the CoG were stretching the RSC forces to the limit. Though the Covenant occupation forces had recently returned, their absence had demonstrated that the Republic needed to be able to dispatch more ships away from home if necessary; another emergency would have required dangerously depleting the ships tasked to defend the core worlds. At first, orders for escort-rated ships came in, with promises of orders for heavier ships as soon as need was assessed. The keel for the first new Starlight class destroyer would be laid within the week in Yard 21.

Gladsheim Prime, Swimming Cloud Yard

She was finally finished. She activated her counter grav and main sublight engines. Slightly lifting herself from the construction slip, HIMS Ragnarok slowly crept out of the yard.
Next to her, one could spot the beginnings of her sister ship, the Götterdämmerung, which has just started its construction.
When she was cleared off the yard, she turned skywards and made the long ascent to open space, more gracefully than one would suspect a ship more than 5 kilometers in length, and massing slightly more than 30 million tons.
Minutes later, she cleared the last wisps of Gladsheim Prime's atmosphere and reached open space.
Dominating the ships awaiting her, she and her escort began the shakedown cruise and initial military maneuvres.

It was a deep chamber in Stormhold, chief industral world of the United Protectrates, perhaps almost 20 kms deep. Deeper than any city cavern or even city safety bunkers. It was new as well, the walls uncraved and seeming raw with the unadorned blastcrete. The team of sciencist, engineers and military officers sat on plastic chairs facing a fold screen.

"Gentlemen, what is said here, never leaves here. This is covered by the national sercerts act, to speak of this outside of here is treason punishable by death." The man was a admiral, one no had ever seen before. His uniform was devoid of fleet markings or personnal IDs. Just blank void black. An Navy intell Div officer, nightmare of the rebel houses before union, reborn to harry the UPs new enemies. The screen flickered to life with a design print for the Kincaid drive.

"The Hajr was kind enough to give us outright Kincaid drives. We have proof that the drive can be used for weapons." The screen changed showing a video of Kincaid torpeado being launched.

"Your job will be to design a guided missle using the Kincaid drive. It will be difficult, but it can be done. The goal is a military weapon capable of assualt an enemy at FTL speed with computing power to slash through jamming and manevuring ability to get into damage range of the foe. You will eat, sleep and dream this goal, here with your families. There will be contact with the outside until futher notice. Gentlemen and Ladies, the survival of our nation and culture may depend on you. Get to Work."

RE: Illegal and fraudulent advertising

We must insist that your attempts to sell unlicensed military technology with in our borders cease. As your government is no doubt aware, such technology is strictly regulated with the Asgard Empire and your blatant and fraudulent breaking of that will not go unnoticed.

Further more, we have serious doubts as to the veracity of your claims regarding your product. If you wish to advertise with in our space for any product you will be required to follow the regulations, which specifically prevent false statements in advertisements.

All military technology sold in your territory will be liscenced properly. However, we were unaware that advertising said technology within your boarders was illegal, and advertisements will cease to be broadcast into your space until such a time as liscence is granted.

The technology is question is battle tested and the military version is used on our own ships.
