Imperial shiplist for the Star Wars game...

Post by Laughing Mechanicus »

Here is a preliminary list of the Imperial ships that are going to be included in the new Star Wars game we're working on:

Capital Class:

Executor - class Command Ship.

Mandator - class Star Dreadnaught:
Going to have a guess at what they look like until we get to see them in Episode 3 (hopefully...)

Procurator - class Star Battlecruiser:
Going to have a guess at what they look like until we get to see them in Episode 3 (hopefully...)

Imperator II - class Star Destoyer.

Imperator - class Star Destroyer.

Acclamator - class Assault Ship.

Interdictor - class Cruiser:
Unsure of the name for this one, a "cruiser" is normally a ship larger than a destroyer but the interdictor is far smaller...

Utility Class:

Lambda - class Shuttle.

Sentinal - class Troop Transport.
This is canon now because it is in the ANH SE.

(Anonymous) - class Freighter:
This is actually canon, it was seen in the "Great Heep" cartoon in the Star Wars Holiday Special

Fighter Class:

TIE Fighter
TIE Interceptor
TIE Advanced X1
TIE Bomber
TIE Boarding Craft
TIE Shuttle

This is not finished by any stretch of the imagination. If you've got any good suggestions for ships from the EU please give them along with some info/pics. The time frame is anything up to the battle of Endor.

The other thing we need is some projections of what the Mandator and Procurator class ships might look like. If any of you are interested and able, we would ask you to submit some "concept art" of what you think these ships would look like, a few basic requirements are they are of the same Kuat drive yards "delta" design as the Imperator SD's and Executor CS's and incorporating the standard bridge design of large Imperial capital ships.

You could add the Victory, but that's not canon, so some might object

I'm in favor if putting the VicStar in, it'll fill in a nice role between the ISD and the Interdictor. I'd leave the acclamator out, though, because they aren't dedicated battleships, they're armored transports and would be easy prey for all the others.
I like the idea of putting the two old Republican ships in, though.

We're going to leave the VSD's out unless we see them in Episode 3, they are afterall simply rejected concept art from Episode 4. The Acclamators are staying in, they will be used to transport larger numbers of troops than an ISD can handle, for assaulting more advanced worlds.

I'm drawing a few concept sketches of the Procurator class now I'm making it about 3.2 km long, I'll try and scan them in later. For the Mandator class I was thinking around 8-10 km for the length.

Hmm, How about Eclipse Class Command ship? Lucus was rumored to have given the design to Dark-Horse for the Reborn Emperor series

I really doubt you'd see them in the movie. However the concept art for the Executor resulted in a pair of nice looking ships, both have a bridge similar to that of the Acclamator. SWTC has both ships I'm thinking of.

I had just wanted the tags removed, and the URL left so Ash could still see what I was talking about.

Heres the other one

Those are the types of designs I had in mind for the Mandator, 2/3 Executor and 1/3 Imperator. Whereas for the Procurator it's more 1/3 Executor and 2/3 Imperator. As for the Eclipse when was that brought into service? IIRC it was around the time of TESB and seeing as it is fairly well excepted and fits the overall "equation" of KDY vessels (I assume it's KDY?) it can be included. could a mod please add it to the list I posted.

I think the Mandator should be around 4-7.

*cough* The Eclipse contructed started before ROTJ, was cancelled, brought to the Core and restarted some time later.

Do they all have to be canon? Some SW games have used non-canon ships.

Hmm, won't bother with adding the Eclipse yet then, for the moment this game will only deal with the events up to Episode 6 so if the Eclipse was still in pieces in a shipyard during that time it can't really be added. As for things being canon, anything from the EU must be well grounded in canon (such as the Intedictor Cruiser conforming to KDY hull standards) to be accepted.

Eclipse entered service around six years after Endor. Eclipse II in under seven, Dark Empire doesn’t give a whole lot of time information but we know all event take place in well under a year.

The Interdictor or more properly the Immobilizer 418 is built by Sienar Fleet Systems, manufactures of the TIE series as well. It is not a KDY product.

How about the Tie Avenger? It's just a newer version of the AdvancedX1.

Or maybe the Allegiance. It's a larger battleship version of the ISD.

What's the criteria for being in that list? If it's a ship that is Lucas-decreed "canon," then the Interdictor Cruiser hasn't been seen on screen at all. (Unless Lucas has given some sort of nod in the movies to the Interdictor, which I doubt?) If you're accepting EU, then you'd need to accept just about everything ever depicted, including the Alleigance-class and Eclipse-class ships.
The Jedi asked, "What is balance for me as a servant of the Light?" The Master replied,"Balance is not what you seek. For you it is accepting that destruction is a part of the universe."

I dunno, what if one of the missions is attacking it while it's still in dock? It ran away from Kuat when the planet came under attack by NR forces IIRC.

I'm think how the might have fallen, one need at least 100 ships during ROTJ if you even wanted to last long enough to look at Kuat funny let alone do any damage
