Yeah, mostly to clear out the people that dropped, the nations that vanishes, and the advice. After all, the OOB thread is meant to be a reference, not another OOC thread.

The entirely automated industry is a big potential game balance problem. Unless the set up and out put remains relatively consistent with the rest of Known Space's levels, I don't think it'll fly.

I'm going to keep it consistant, don't worry. It's more a society quirk, or was intended to be so. The entire class of people that would work them isn't there, hence a low population and clan/feudal society.

Okay, that's no problem then.

The rest I'll have to wait to see a blurb or something on your ships before saying anything else.

Right, mine's up. Fleet numbers aren't updated yet. I'll do that after going through and counting up my losses from previous battles and accounting for new construction. And what is this invasion guide of which you speak? My worlds have notes of what fleet elements are stationed at them in their descriptions, but are we supposed to post a more concise accounting somewhere?

No, that's just Thirdfain's love of worldbuilding I think. There's no detailed guide required though I'm actually working on a complete Navy List (names and designator numbers for all my ships) at the moment which includes indivdual fleet OOBs.

Ship blurbs up. With the exception of the Dominus, there's no real hard variation from most.

War doesn't work like that.
Never asked for a battleship to explode. I just feel like driving home the foolishness of a carrier with bays large enough to drive destroyers into being present when someone's lobbing railguns.
You didn't check out the size difference between the Venture and Starlight classes, did you? The former is roughly 3500 meters. The latter is 500. And the carrier's a hell of a lot wider than the destroyer, too. In comparison to the Venture's total size, such a bay isn't that big, and only the forward bay can do that. The others are smaller.

You realize that relatively big or not that's still a big freaking soft spot on your ships. You can't avoid that.

*Shrug* I know. Its a price I'm willing to pay for hauling a shitload of assault fighters. But its a soft spot that doesn't face all directions all the time, and stupid commanders don't get to have the things. No sane captain would face his bow hangar bay towards the broadside of an enemy BB or DN.

Edit: If he could help it, anyway; its certainly possible to maneuver in front of a carrier or to surround one. But Nitram's ship wasn't doing that.

Consequences, about your little expedition into former Machine territory....

First, good luck finding the developed worlds. I was the only one who took the initiative to scout out and then destroy the machines, and I'm not sharing.
Second, Overseer tends to build on lifeless rocks. You couldnt live there, and even if you could, the facilities there are made for machines, not men. You can't operate any of that shit. All that these worlds are now are big salvage yards.
Third, I have the rights to the salvage operation by right of conquest. If you try to take what I rightfully earned during my campaign, you will have problems. That is not a threat, that is the truth.

The fact that your fleet turned around and went home means that you basically abandoned your conquests. Given that Nitram pulled playing dead shit on me in my one engagement with him, this strikes my forces as being highly irresponsible. At the very least, we are going to sit on the sites and make sure that nothing starts moving again, while taking the most detailed scans of everything we can manage.
Finding them shouldn't be to ridiculously hard, your main fleet rolling through has to leave a pretty hefty trail.

For my part, I thought I had been a bit more detailed in my efforts to find them, but the only posts I'm turning up indicate my searching of the area between former arcane space and me, and undetailed 'survey work' on the far side of my space. Blast and dagnabbit, real life and ferret-like distractability strike again.

Just because I truned my warships around doesnt mean that I wont send anything in there to take care of salvage. Last time I checked, dreadnaughts were not needed to pick up dead metal and put it in a barge. And once I get word that you are poking around what is mind, you can bet some of those warships will turn around pretty quick.

-edit- And I did say I was leaving some ships around to make sure that nothing moved. Im not being irresponsible, you just werent reading close enough. Second to last paragraph of my "battle" post, I believe....

Either way, the really important stuff probably went up when you completely frickin' melted the Overseer's core...

Oh, and for the record, I will be doing something similar shortly. My current OOB does not have Delta fleet in it yet either, but I am currently working to remedy that.

Edit: It has been fixed. Now I just need to do battlegroup divisions and such.

I feel like doing an OOB just for the heck of it. What details will be required for this? Are there any pre-start relations I should consider? And is a race of spacefaring tentacle creatures viable?
