It's not very well known, but several Zionist groups in the late 30's actually cooperated with the SS in forcing German Jews ito emigrate both legally and illegally to Palestine.

It's not so surprising to find that they had other things in common as well.

As for the Nazi link, practically the entire Western world screwed with eugenics during the early half of the twentieth century, some longer than that, but I don't see people rushing to draw links between countries like Sweden and the United States to the Nazis on account of their eugenics practices.

Ya never heard of Social Darwinism? It's a well-known fact that practically every western country was screwing around with eugenics. For instance, there were programs to sterilize the mentally ill and retarded, as well as "undesireables" such as paupers. It wasn't just some people getting together in Victorian parlors being snobby racists, either. Tens of thousands of people were sterilized.

Be forewarned: if you Google it and don't read a lot of stuff and read widely (meaning, you only read one or two things on the first page of the Google search) you may end up with some wacked out things. Fundies for instance like using Social Darwinism to show how evil and vile an idea evolution is. It's one of those things that crazy people pick up on fast for one reason or another.

But the thing is that many Israel-supporters seem to have trouble with Europeans supporting eugenics while the very nation they defend does exactly that they want to keep Europeans from doing.

Of course I have trouble with the fact that many Europeans once practiced eugenics, but I wouldn't condemn them in the present day for practices they've long since abandoned, nor do I think it's fair to condemn the Israelis, since they no longer practice eugenics either.
