Outside the disk, any stars would be extremely scarce, and useful stars would be very far apart. Heavy elements created by the ruins of supernova would not likely find a home out there as they would inside the disk. I'd suggest sticking to the disk for the time being. We'll just make an arrow leading to your space noting the transit time.
Hmmm... good points. I think that will work. Though wasn't aware that Earth was a star... :D

Earth-type is a short way of saying Main Sequence G Class stars similar to Sol capabable of supporting Earth-type planets, wisenheimer. :P

So, yeah, I'll put you rim by spin-rim. :)

Everyone is highly insistant that they are "oustide known space", but since the beginning of this STGOD, what space is "known" has increased dramatically. The only people who have issue with this are those who keep their home planets WELL AWAY from the corse systems. This includes only the Ousters, the Overseer (RIP), and now I guess the Nyllorans.

Well, given the tech, pretty much most of the galaxy should be mapped by now in at least some detail. Known Space is just an area of focus around Earth. We can change the name easily enough, and will probably have to soon.

There is plenty of room inside the current 1,000 ly radius of Earth for new powers, NPC powers, and so forth. I think the idea is that beyond that, not many powers expanded to, for whatever reason. The Consortium, for example, is plagued by a near total dearth of terracompatable planets for dozens and dozens of lightyears around Corvus, and had the danger of the Dra'kol in their history.

Perhaps we should just call what was Known Space a Kilo-LY? I can make a few maps of variable zoom levels to give people a sense of scale.

I'm pretty sure the Psilons were further out than that. JadedMasses kept saying that he was way the hell away and had crappy transit times before he quit.

Fair enough, I'll move them closer to the rim in the next revision then :)

It would probably totally fuzz them at longer ranges and simply degrade them at shorter.

we have already been through this. 15 megaton warheads, poor guidance. Usually used on poximity detonation for taking out fighter screens and missile volleys. And for planetary bombardments

And for getting shot down immediately after launch as a cheap way to kill the launching vehicle. Unless they aren't antimatter, in which case enver mind.

Heh. Perhaps I should type them out in Word over the course of a couple hours more often, as opposed to just writing it in the post form like I usually do.

Actually, I won't be starting any wars. As I am leaving for vacation this Friday, the Ousters will be closing their borders and having a brief but spirited political coup during the month of July. If I started a war now, I wouldn't be able to finish it, and would be doing a grave disservice to the STGOD.

Hey, they still mount standard arms, and it is an even mix of missile destroyers and fast destroyers.
