Of course- presumably light arms, considering they have such impressive point defense missiles...

Right. So I take it your missile destroyers are, in effect, escort destroyers? PD platforms, just armed in an uncommon fashion?

pretty much. And remember, the number of missiles s the number when all brrells of all launchers are fired at once. They take 30 seconds to reload, and as such, arent even usually fired like that.

OK, I get it! so it's pretty much like the Commonwealth Swarmer pods from STGOD2- a one-shot, potent antimissile system which then requires a while to reload.

Upon seeing the constructive angles the main thread is taking, I've taken to wishing quite wildly that I could be here for the next month just so I could end this silly game with some gridfire.

*grumble* RL renders me impotent in this, but just you wait- you'll see what your carefree, jolly gameplay nets you, oh, you'll see! *gibbers madly*

Thirdfain is correct, I am going on vacation for July. Although Im not leaving for another week. I, too, will have some unrest in the Cleint Worlds, and the Krell services will be unavailable for the month of July. I hope I dont miss too much.

*snort* there are exactly three stages in an STGOD: Preparing for war, Engageing in War, and Recovering from War. The big question is: Is this Stage 1 or Stage 3?

While we're at it, I'll be on vacation from July 1 through July 10. Away from the Internet is another matter. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get on the board or not.

I will be leaving for Washington D.C June 19th and I will return the 25th. I doubt I will have internet access, so I will not be peeking at the thread during the allotted time.

I would have thought a combat hoverdyne entering the arena would have been notice enough. It wouldn't have been silent, and there is still atmosphere in the arena.

Force Declaration: Division Six, Mikal Antoliovich

Cybernetically and genetically enhanced telepaths, the black ops division of the Ravenlock Consortium. Mikal Antoliovich is one of the best agents the Division has to offer. Unaugmented clone bodies and third parties are often used in hostile territory to maintain plausable deniability. Most Division Six agents are human, though a small number of Dra'kol are slowly being phased in.

Oh, forgot to mention. The deployment listings in the home port registry I posted supercede the listed forces as given in the planet descriptions. The Republic used to maintain its fleets at the fortress worlds and vital areas and keep only light guard forces at the main civilian planets, but since the attacks on Pinnacle and the colonies, the Navy has been redeployed to better defend against sudden assaults. Pinnacle, Nashtar, and to a lesser extent Praetor still maintain large forces, though.

And also forgot to ask: Who the hell is David Drake? :P

Yeah, that was aimed at Thirdfain from when he said my post had echoes of David Drake. Never heard of him.

I actually ment David Weber, author of Honor Harrington. Your post carried some of that flavour. :P

David Drake wrote Hammer's Slammers, about a futuristic mercenary legion. They fight in big iridium-armord tanks, it's pretty cool.
