I conceed that most of the weapons systems charges are apparently incorrect - although I'm interested to know which weapons systems didn't get covered within that bill, and which Kerry therefore voted specifically to shoot down.
As for Elfdart, I remind you that Howard Stern is a supporter of John Kerry. Shall I now go and extrapolate that because of this, he must be working for the Kerry campaign? Get it through your head: not everybody who stands by a particular candidate is actually representing him or her.
And finally, I still feel that Kerry's plan to refocus the War on Terror away from state orientation is a terrible idea. George Bush's recognition that state sponsors of terrorism and "rogue" states are the biggest contributors to the danger of terrorism is one of his most important selling points.

I think the B-2 was among them, I think he specifically voted for an amendment to halt production between 89-92, according to one article I read. In 1992, Bush 41 did it himself. Not exactly a controversial procurement item- it's huge cost made it one of the great pariahs of procurement back in its day.I conceed that most of the weapons systems charges are apparently incorrect - although I'm interested to know which weapons systems didn't get covered within that bill, and which Kerry therefore voted specifically to shoot down.

Oddly enough, even some Republicans gave the explaination about Kerry's appearant voting against weapons systems. Bob Dole himself explained that you can use a persons voting record in Congress to prove that the person is for or against literally anything, simply by the nature of the way they vote on bills. When there is a bill with hundreds of items on it and a few doosies that you can't possibly vote for, then you end up voting against everything on the list whether you support them or not. As Dole noted, he knows all about this, because Clinton did it to him in '96 to try and prove that he supported or was against things that he really wasn't.

Kast, there's a huge difference between Sampley, a crank, creep, scumbag and convicted felon who just happens to come out when Bush is in trouble to defame Dubya's opponent; and Howard Stern, a guy who supports as many Republicans as Democrats and only turned on Bush when Bush's FCC started busting Stern's balls (for millions of $). The fact that Clear Channel (big supporters of Dubya) violated a contract with Stern -The King Of All Media- and are currently trying to cheat him out of the money they owe him (Stern is suing them for it.), didn't help.
Sampley assaulted a Congressional aide. Stern invites strippers and porn stars on his radio show. Bad analogy. Now if an outright thug and criminal should start doing dirty tricks for Kerry at all too convenient times in the race, you'd have a point.
By the way:

But was it the F-14 as a whole, a particular model or planes the Pentagon didn't ask for? There are any number of good reasons to vote against a particular bill.Axis Kast wrote:Of course, that handful of items Kerry did vote against could be quite revealing.
It's one thing to say he didn't favor B-2 procurement; but if he was against procurement of, say, the F-14, that brings him back into question.
I don't think he ever voted against it, but in the case of the F-14, that depends on what year the vote was made and what exactly was beng voted against. The F-14D was an unecessary procurement in the post Cold War world. Hell, Cheney was mostly responsbile for the death of that program (part of his spat with Grumman over the A-12 Avenger II fiasco).Axis Kast wrote:
