The contact didn't go ignored long; a huge Freedom battleship approached it, flanked by it's vast array of support ships, just in case. The fleet fanned out around the cylinder.Tasoth wrote:In the nearest inhabited systems are dispatched alabaster, 3 meter long cyclinders. Each is covered in a unique pattern of lights. Inside each is an ambassador, a diplomatic machine intelligence. Now they wait for contact.

The Cylinder was unceremonious(Or perhaps just unskillfully) dropped onto the deck, where it's optics would get a fine view of an ancient man, with cybernetics, wires, and metal all over his body. The Countess smiled as she tucked the datapad back into her gown. "Thank you, Mr. Welles. May our two goverments prosper." And with that, she marched back to her ship with the Marines, lifted-off, and docked with the Aurora.Straha wrote:"Seems fairly mundane, you have an agreement."Captain tycho wrote: Point 1: The Navy will assist in the defense and aid of Monocora against her enemies, and Monocora shall do likewise.
Point 2: A free-exchange program of all non-classified technologies shall be set up between Manticore and Monocora.
Point 3: The Royal Merchant Marine Service will have trading rights in Monocoran space, as will private civilian interests, and vice versa.
And with that Ambassador Welles signed the document with a flourish.

Imperial Palace, Nyll
Emperor Aurelian Illyrian I stared out from the balcony of his palace at the stars above. Below him a small army of crack security troops continually patrolled the premises as electronic survellience kept tabs on every single organism within the palace. The stars themselves were visible only through the thin, translucent skin of the energy shield which surrounded the entire compound.
The Emperor had returned from his voyage to Asgard space exhausted and in need of rest. Retreating to this private abode, he now contemplated the future of the Empire. Black skin blended with the dark purple he wore, his yellow eyes piercing the night sky.
Behind him entered Chancelloress Hylyn - not an enemy, but not quite a friend. Even from a few feet away she towered over her lord, but the force of his quiet meditation was enough to instill in her a sense of tranquil serenity.
Ten minutes passed in silence as the Emperor acknowledged nothing bu the stars. Hylyn's wings twitched slightly.
"Your Exaltedness..." she hesitated; to disturb the Emperor was to tread upon potentially dangerous ground. But she needn't had worried. Aurelian was in no mood for formalities.
Not bothering to turn to her or lower his gaze, he waved a dismissive hand.
"Chancelloress, appointments are available through the Office for Imperial Audience." A jest, of course - the Emperor's highest advisors were given access to him at all times.
"My lord, I am very sorry to intrude upon you..."
"But?"
"A question."
"Ask. And please, in simple and informal language."
Hylyn moved up next to the Emperor, who finally turned to consider her. Standing beside him she topped him by a good four feet, but then the Emperor was rather short, even for humans.
"Lord Emperor, recent events have left me wondering about the future of the Empire."
"I imagine they've provoked the same sort of reaction in everybody, Chancelloress."
"Ah, yes, I imagine so, but still...I wonder if we are moving in the right direction, my lord. One misstep could destroy us all."
"You have issues with my policies, Chancelloress?"
"No, Lord Emperor, not directly, anyway. But the speed with which we attached ourselves to these 'Asgard'...it would have struck me as rather more prudent to have hung back, made contact with more nations and looked to the affairs of the galaxy before making such a dramatic commitment."
"A valid criticism, Chancelloress, and not one that I had not considered. You see, I felt it prudent, as you put it, to secure ourselves and solidfy our position as soon as possible. A military alliance with these Asgard suits that purpose admirably, but do not fear. I have plans in mind...many plans indeed."

Edges of White Sun Confederation Space
The diplomatic vessel Swift Resolution exited hyperspace, escorted by the four escort destroyers Peter Abelard, Captain John Smith, Guinevere and General Stilwell. The escort destroyers' shields were powered down and their weapons cold...their mission being one of peace, after all. Of course, constant communiques were being beamed back to Nyllorian space as the ships embarked upon their mission.
In the distance a White Sun planet burned brightly against the void.
The Swift Resolution hailed the planet with a simple message - one suggesting friendship and requesting a diplomatic audience.

Subject: Arrest and Detaining of Asgard Citizens
Following a sequence of suspicious events at the Trade Fair today in Ark Sector, an Agent claiming Asgard citizenship was arrested while attempting to magically shapeshift to evade security. Security records (attached here) show the events in question. At around the same time, several ships at the fair from reported being actively scanned. The active scans in question were far beyond what was required for navigational purposes, and a possibility of espionage was considered high. The ship responsible was boarded in a routine action. When it was found that the ship that had been boarded was the same ship that had brought the Agent to the fair, the crew of the Freighter was escorted from the ship and detained for questioning. Search teams found a destroyed computer component on the ship, and are in the process of attempting to salvage the system.
We are considering the agent actively hostile, in clear breach of the security of the Trade Fair, and in light of the circumstances surrounding the actions of the Freighter, we suspect the attempted breach of security extends to the crew of the freighter.

The man in detention is indeed an Imperial subject. However we claim no knowledge of what his activities are at present. So long as he is tried in accordance with the acknowledged sentient rights conventions we will not demand extradition.
The vessel, while possibly of our manufacture* it is not a vessel formally registered in the Merchant Registry. Regretfully that means that beyond investigating it's possible construction and delivery we can't provide any more information.
*OOC: The Asgard exported a lot of merchant ships so that doesn't mean jack.

[Imperial Senate, Joint Session]
"The issue we have before us is simple. The Nyllians have proposed a treaty with the following terms:
1) An export of materials with the Nyllians.
2) The agreement to help with the training of their military.
3) An Mutal Defense Agreement. We will come to their aid in the event of an attack by an agressor nation, as they will to ours. We both may request military aid at other such times, to be provided at the discretion of the granting nation. And the right of transit, subject to prior clearance, for military movements."
The controversial treaty ignited a rather nasty Senatorial fight. One that almost boiled over into an actual fight as the debate became especially heated. Ultimately though, the ayes carried it by a slim margin.

"Excellent, I'll send for a ground car. We should be there shortly. In the mean time, I must say that I find the prospect of our two nations once more opening diplomatic relations as being a very good thing. "Darksider wrote:"I would like to proceed to the meeting right away. We have much to discuss."Stormbringer wrote:Darksider wrote:"Acknowledged."
The small diplomatic convoy moved along the transmitted path, and landed on Trondheim.
Ambassador Toorth walked out and greeted the Asgard diplomatic personell.
"Hello."
"Welcome, Ambassador Toorth. I am Special Secretay Friedland." The man gave a wave in the direction of a waiting car. "Would you like me to see you to your quarters or to the meeting straight away?"
The ground car had arrive and both men were ushered in side.
"I must say though, I dare suspect that we, both our nations I mean, are looking for a bit more than merely diplomatic relations, egh?

Ark Sector
Alpha Fleet – First Battlegroup
Radim simply smiled as the probes from the search for the Overseer now searched through the Ravenlock and Veithan controlled regions and beyond. It wasn’t the full supply of probes, but everything the Ravenlock and Veithans had, plus whatever other nations had been willing to lend, was worked into a web all around the Ark Sector and beyond, scanning for pirate vessels and rogue Arcanist Ships that might have fled to strike again later. Ever since the beginning of the Trade Fair, they had been watching, looking for any so foolish as to try a sneak attack on the Fair itself.
They had gotten a bite. Escorts from the First Battlegroup leading to make sure the way was clear, Radim gave the order to buzz the ships that the network of probes had discovered. Once they were identified, the real fun would begin. At the very least, it would make up for him not getting a piece of the Overseer at the end. Preliminary data from the probes indicated ships from the KSE, an interesting development. Looks like it was time to call up the KSE, find out what their ships were doing in the area…

Al-Quadim System, Al-Quadim station
The floating station, now learly tripple the size it had when it was first constructed in the atmosphere. Soon, it would reach the status of a Floating City in itself. It defensive and offensive systems were already on par with one.
Lying in her bed, Liv Tjoerhom dreamily gazed out of the window. The swirling purple clouds soothed her. The colour wasn't exactly right. She missed the rich orange of Gladsheim Prime, it's deepness, perfection...
Just as she was about to grab another cup of coffee, she was interrupted.
<<Admiral,>> the local station's consensus 'vised, <<you remember us sending a representative to this trade fair in the Ark sector?>>
<<Sure,>> she answered. <<Straasgard went. What's wrong?>>
<<Sven Straasgard did report some suspicious activities, involving ships and strange agents roaming the station.>>
She thought about it for a microsecond or two. <<Well, I think it would be a good sign to show our support to the Ravenlock. After all, we're now in a more formal position. And besides, I'm bored to death...>>
She dressed, and went through the nearest 'Caster to Verdandi.
Minutes later, the huge Battle Carrier, accompanied by 1 Dreadnought, 2 Attack carriers, 2 Battle Cruisers, 10 Light Carriers, and 10 Fast Destroyers seperated themselves from the rest of the fleet and swallowed into their respective wormholes. It would be just a hop for them.
