Doesn't look that bad to me. I mean seriously, they are informing people of a crime and the consequences of violating that law. The RIAA is unpopular and I don't like them, but they are within their rights to protect their product as are the developers of video games.

And it's utter bullshit that you're not allowed to install a game on two PCs that are owned by the same person. Like: "Hey I'm going on holiday and take my laptop with me, one moment, I need to delete all games from my desktop PC first!"

You obviously didn't watch the same video I did. The one I saw was utter shit which, if anything, made me want to go out and flagrantly flout every copyright law there is.

I hope the RIAA never tries this tactic...

It looks like a standard 80's "Don't do this video" I saw many of these in grade school, perhaps I'm just imune to this effect.

I'd rate that as one of the worst I've seen, but anything that comes close to it has been erased from memory as a self-defence precaution. I don't want to recall the things I've seen in the name of "edutainment" before.

I'm pissed off that I actually have to use my original disks in order to play games that I legitly bought. My NWN play disk already has little cracks spreading out from the inner rim (a common problem with these particular disks) and Atari refuse to provide replacements on anything older then three months.

That is definately early nineties. They mentioned games like Oregon Trail, which was somewhat popular in the Windows 3.1 era. Its a simple "don't do it" video with minimal explanation why not to. I think the message may have worked, but that MC repeating "don't copy that floppy" thousands of times over just might make me want to actually "copy that cd-rw".

I haven't had a problem using a copy of cd 3 for NWN, to play. Alternatively you can use CloneCD (makes a perfect image) and its in-built virtual drive to mount the image (if you have the hdd space). Mounting the image makes a big difference in how fast the game goes, too.

Yeah, one of bioware's patches turns off securom. They released that when they found people were having problems with the copy protection. --Have I mentioned how much I respect bioware? Compare this to Blizzard's behaviour when people couldn't play Diablo 2 because of the copy protection keeping legit CDs from working. The response was "yeah, sucks to be you."
