To be fair, we've seen Jaffa armour deflect the occasional bullet. Shame for them that semi-auto takes that advantage from them too.Alyeska wrote:The M16 has never had any trouble getting through Jaffa armor. Five-seveN's have never appeared in the show. The M9 is the only sidearm that SG-1 has been seen using (aside from Zats, of course).Sir Sirius wrote:Can't remember ever seeing Five-seveN's in SG-1, but I've only seen the first four seasons.

SeaSkimmers pretty much said it all for me, but have a look at this. As can be seen, the 7.92mm rounds used by the Wermachts bolt-action Mausers, backs quite a bit more stopping power than a 5.56mm.wautd wrote:If an M16 has trouble with the armor than surely a MP40 or lugerDirty Harry wrote:wautd wrote:Imo pistols and mp40's will be useless vc jaffa weapons
What makes you think that?, We have seen Jaffa footsloggers being positively murdered by SG teams armed with a variety of Firearms (M4's , FN p90's, Beretta 9mm pistols). So what makes you think that the Wermachts weaponry will not be effective?
+ for what soulman said
If this was just Jaffa infantry vs Wermacht infantry, Than it's clear the Wermacht would win. It would be quite interesting to watch actually.

We have seen non armor piercing 5.56mm rounds penetrate Jaffa and Serpent Guard armor with sustained fire. Anything .30cal or higher should have sufficent power without needing armor penetrating.

Jaffa armor usualy deflects 9mm rounds. Incidently where a handful of bullets from a P90 or M4 can down a Jaffa, it takes sustained fire from a MP5. With the small barrel on the M9 it takes upwards of half the clip to take down a Jaffa.NecronLord wrote:To be fair, we've seen Jaffa armour deflect the occasional bullet.
