I'm starting this thread because I honestly don't know why the hell I should vote for John Kerry. "He's not Bush," to me, is not sufficient reason to select him as the candidate to whom I entrust my vote, and while I disagree with him on the little nitty-gritty campaign ideals that all candidates put forth (ie. his plan on community service and such), but I don't know where he stands on the BIG issues--the ones that count. So, if anyone has any John Kerry sightings they wish to discuss, where he reveals his plans for the future of America, please post them here.

Are you on travel? It's 10:35pm in California and I don't know where Kerry is.
Anyway, I don't have a good issue. I have not been paying attention to the Democrats because I wan't Bush out. Plus I've had a lot of other issues at work/personal to deal with. So this election Im sorta tuned out for better or worse.

There is no reason to vote for Kerry, because he doesnt even pick an actual stance on issues. He is trying to be everything to everyone, and it isnt going to work. I have friends who are normally liberal who are voting bush, simply because they at least know where that douchbag stands.

Even so, as things stand now I'm not voting for Kerry. He has done NOTHING to convince me that it'll be a vote any better spent than on one of the third parties, where I can (hopefully) tailor their views to match my own.

The way I see it, Kerry is a politician. Therefore he is, by definition, a liar, a crook, and a general all-around scumbag. But he's not a monster, and he's not a maniac, which makes him a whole lot better than Bush.

Yes. Yes there are. Hundreds, in fact. I shit you not. Most of them are running as true independents (and are mostly nutjobs) and will only get a handful of votes. However, there are organized third parties (Libertarian, Green, Constitution Party) that actually pull a sizeable number of votes, just not enough to win. George Washington was not a member of any political party, and there is no provision in law that says that the President must come from one of two major parties. That's just the way public opinion falls all the time.evilcat4000 wrote:Are there smaller candidates with no chance winning who also contest but we the people in other countries dont hear of them ?Do you mean "candidates with a realistic chance of winning?"

As a matter of self-defense, retaliatory policies including embargoes, sanctions, and tariffs, should be considered.

Just because you're on drugs doesn't mean you can't still be against them. Just look at Rush Limbaugh.Rogue 9 wrote:Alyrium Denryle wrote:They are like... Libertarians with a religious bent... and on drugs...You were saying? :PTheir Platform wrote:Drug Abuse

Well, one thing that to me seem indicative of the man was in the MTV Chose or Lose interveiw that I happened to catch part of it took the interveiwer the interveiwer several pointed questions simply to get Kerry to admit that he supported civil unions with gays. And when asked why he supported a half measure, he just ignored the point made.. So, if anyone has any John Kerry sightings they wish to discuss, where he reveals his plans for the future of America, please post them here.
That for me characterizes him and reveals a lot about his lack of principles.
I know someone who is voting for them anyway, due to his libertarian stance except on the issue with drugs. He does dislike the religious component though.kojikun wrote:Fascinating.. Check out the Constitution Party's platform..
