How much total harddisk-space have you got? Start bragging!

Post by Sokartawi »

Rules: PLEASE don't use the 1024 byte in a MB etc etc, I know a 200GB harddisk is actually 186GB but if we use two standards it will mess everything up. Just use the same thing shops use, easier for everyone that way. And it must be in PCs you own or are owned by 'daddy'. If you own at least one PC, then 'daddies' PC doesn't count anymore.

What I got:
1x 200GB Maxtor SATA (just bought yesterday for 100 Euros, new)
1x 80GB Maxtor 8mb
2x 80GB Maxtor 2mb
1x 40GB Maxtor
2x 30GB Maxtor

Total: 540 GB

If you just voted, you picked the wrong one.

But I personally find 80GB harddisks acceptable. Everything below that is, well...

Let me see...

About 32 GB with the new hardisk IIRC.
A 3.8.6 with about 40 MB.
A laptop with 8 MB.
A something without hardisk!

Not very advanced I am.

40MB? Hmm I had that in my XT machine 15 or so years ago. Used 'stacker' to get it up to 70MB or something.

Silly rabbit. I have only 40 of your lovely gigs at my disposal.

Naturally, I am buying a new PC this Xmas as this trusty Medion has lasted well since October 2001.

I have a single 160GB hard drive at my disposal, and I use less than 60GB of it total (and I plan on removing files).

Just over 100 Gigs, which translates to a phenomenally large amount of porn. And no, I don't know that from experience. :P

Only 80 GB on mine, but that beats the hell out of the 6 GB I had on my old computer.

400GB in 4 drives: 30, 60, 120, and 200 (that one's SATA). They're all Maxtor 7200rpm.

1x Maxtor 160GB (7200RPM, ATA133...because SATA is pointless)
1x IBM 45GB 75GXP (used for backups, which will soon host Mandrake 10 when I have the time to install it)

Out of all that space, I currently have 30GB free on the 160 gigger, and about 20 on the 45 gigger. Editing video tends to eat up drive space rather quickly. ;)

A 160GB for me, though only a fraction is used (my previous computer had a pathetic 12 and was constantly running out of space). I also have a 80GB lying around.

My desktop computer has a 40GB HD and my laptop has a 10GB HD. The home in total has several hundred GB, but some of that is tied up in RAID 1 arrays.

I own 78.249 (74.125 "real" gigs of HDD and a 124 Mb flash drive). I used the real measure though and hit the wrong choice as a consequnce. It should've been 80. If you add all the storage in my house it's about 120.124 (dell with 40 gb hdd sits down stairs) gigs, and if you count the non working hdd sitting on my floor doing nothing it's 124.424 gigs of storage. So err, i feel deficiant.
