Found this over at The Digital Bits, but decided to link to the SW.com article since it gives better coverage and links to larger pictures:

Basically, this is the final official art that will be used for the OT Box Set's individual cases and discs when released this September.

I like the idea of using the original "A" release theatrical posters for the discs, mostly because those have been my favorite poster art for each film (interesting that while I never knew that the RotJ A poster was done by a Japanese artist, in hindsight, it's somewhat clearer that it was...)

But I thought they would use Digi-Paks. Have they instead decided to use Amary-Boxes?

The covers look pretty good. They seem better than the prequel DVD covers.

Just interesting:

They only show and talk about the Widescreen version (or CinemaScope if you want to call it that way), but not the Fullscreen version. Indicates, that they too hate the Fullscreen version of the movies... (I confess here that I'm a die hard fan of Widescreen, hating Pan&Scan).

It seems they're trying to stay consistent with the prequels. Like the cover art is similar as well.

I hate cardboard cases, so Amray keepcases rule.

The "lense flares" on the sabers to make them "kewl" look kinda cliche.
; )

But yeah, what's inside is what counts!

Still, I do like the original ROTJ poster (the one with the "hands holding saber").

The cases look decent, but there's one of the features that bother me:

What's a Digi-Pak? Are those the multiple disc "brick" cases?

If so, they never said what kind of cases the individual cases would have inside of the box and slipcover. I'd assume that they wouldn't use the brick cases because they're mostly used for television series sets rather than collections of individual films. Besides, they look rather cheep.

They used individual cases for the Indiana Jones set, so I don't see why they'd do something different for Star Wars.

Kurgen: Fox doesn't use cardboard cases (dubbed "snapper cases"). The only major studios that do use snapper cases are Warner and New Line...

The use of the lens flairs is because the PT DVDs use them, too.

Yes, I also hate Pan&Scan. Don't you agree that it's a good thing that only the Widescreen version is released here in Europe?
Oh, Tribun, with your sig in mind, is it common that movies are dubbed in Germany? Here in Sweden it would result in a public outcry if movies are dubbed. Personally, I hate dubbing (I've never seen a dubbed movie though), but it's interesting to learn how the views are in other countries. Not to hijack the thread or anything.

When is it coming here?

If you're referring to the DVD box, the release date is September 20 here in Sweden, don't know about Finland though.

I'd prefer if they used the hand-drawn movie posters (for every DVD, not just the OT). Looks better. I don't like the PT DVD covers.
