Post by haas mark »

Anybody have any ideas for some *REAL* food out there that I can have? I would like to start taking better care of myself, and I was really wondering about this...YB, I'm sure you have some, and I just wanty to start eating better (no, I will NOT turn into an EF troll...ew....), but I have no idea what Ishould be eating...and I don't really have all the money to go out and but the damn cookbook...ingredients could be a lot cheaper, adn I DO have relatives inb the same city, so of course I could cook for them to...but I digres...need recipes!!!

Are we SURE that Italian cooking qualifies as healthy (lol I mean too much of a good thing...) What else, though?

Problem there is getting the money together for the Japanese food...although both very healthy and very tasty, I can't scrounge up *quite* that much money yet...I need a job, still....

Walnuts are good for you, but if you eat a lot of them, they don't go down right, and you feel like crap when you shit them out. I've been through that once, and I'll never eat walnuts again.

If you're looking to eat healthy then don't eat anything after 6pm (excluding fruits and veggies). The stuff will go straight to yer gut!

I can't help you, verilon. I live on a diet consisting of 50% well-cooked and healthy home meals and 50% beef jerky and jerky-related products, including - but not limited to - pepperoni sticks and summer sausage.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

Learn to make soups and eat it with breads... swell up in your stomach so you feel full faster. As for that matter just eat watery things (Salads, soups, stews, chili's(the soup/stew variety), fruits and vegetables). Don't neglect on protien though. Nuts are okay occasionally but tend to have a lot of fats. And its not the caffine that makes you tierd, its probably the heat of the beverage. Thats my two cents.

I drink cold drinks...I never drink coffee, and only drink hot teas on occasion.

If you only drink cold drinks with caffine in it that has sugar in it as well, then how do you know that caffine makes you drowse and sugar makes you awake?

Because when I DO drink the hot drinks, they put me to sleep.

Im trying to learn to cook, never really needed to before there was always someone else around to do the cooking.

Get rice cooker if you are inclined to eat rice. You can make simple meals right in the cooker.

Tea, unless black, has little caffine, and the human body has a tendancy to become tierd when drinking warm beverages... thus, its probably just the heat thats making you tierd... dare not insult the greatness of caffine!

what kind of coffee do you drink? some of the crap they have out now-in-days has so little coffee and so much fluf it isn't even funny... and you must be weary of the decaf... black decaf adds the bitter, what most would say "ick" taste to coffee with none of the reward... whoever thought of decaf was a masochist
