Presidents have been determined by the Electoral College before. It isn't as if George W. Bush began the trend. Gore should go read up on another hapless Democrat, Samuel J. Tilden.

You're bringing up the sham election of 1876 as if it's supposed to somehow justify the selection of Bush? Are you forgetting that Hayes only ascended to the presidency because the Republican party made what one of the most odious deals in American political history?
