Marine Missing
The Coalition confirms the information that a Marine is missing:
CNN wrote:A coalition spokesman in Baghdad confirmed early Monday that a Marine with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force has been missing since June 21, but stopped short of saying he might be a hostage.
The spokesman named the Marine, but CNN is withholding identification until it knows the man's family has been notified.
Sad shit.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I hope by some miracle he gets away ... but I know that's wishful thinking.

They're doing this because they see the reaction they've gotten out of the media. Is the destruction of two nations not enough to make these fuckers relize that these kinds of actions just piss us off more? This is not going to do anything other than make us more determined to root them out and kill them. Unlike Spain, no matter which candidate gets elected in the US, we are there as long as the Iraqies want.
Considering that in the latest poll (widely reported) only 2% of Iraqis outside of the Kurdish region view the US as liberators, I find it highly unlikely that "there as long as the Iraqis want" means Iraqis in any other sense than those puppets hand-picked by the US.

Considering that the interim government keeps on taking actions that the US advisors strongly oppose such as making Iyad Allawi their PM I'd hardly classify them as puppets.
