Bush's new campaign ad

Post by Tzeentch »

Well, it seems that Bush's PR machine has finally lost it.

How exactly is this ad supposed to make me (or anyone else, for that matter) want to vote for Bush?

Are we talking about 'there is no time for pessimism and rage' add? Look out I think the Bush/Cheney Juggernaut is telling y'all how to think!

Bush's PR folks have gone insane!

PR Guy 1: "Hmm, Kerry is ahead in the polls. What can we do?"
PR Guy 2: "Oh, I know! Let's point out a bunch of the arguments against Bush! That'll surely win people over to our side."
PR Guy 1: "Yeah! People will see what big meanie-faces Moore, Kerry, Gore, and others are. Then they'll have to vote for Bush, out of pity."

The ad isn't supposed to make you feel good about Bush, it's supposed to make you wonder just what kind of nutjobs support Kerry and if you want to be associated with them in supporting him.

If I'd made the ad, I would have spliced in a few clips of Barbara Striesand singing at a Kerry fundraiser. Bush would probably carry 49 states after showing that footage.

Personally though, I think you'd have to be a lunatic to be enthusiastic about either one. :P

What the hell? If I saw that on TV the first thing I'd think was that it was an anti-bush ad.

OK then, he'd only carry 48 states.

WTF? They're actually using that PoS they cut up from the destroyed moveon.org Hitler ad? If I wasn't used to Bush, I would never believe this.

You know, up until this point, I had given Bush's campaign managers credit for doing such a good job of wrapping up that pile of shit he calls a presidency with perfume and a pretty bow. But this was just one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. What genius said, "Let's show a bunch of clips of perfectly legitimate criticisms of Bush and then say, 'Vote Bush!'"?

This should at least make one thing very clear to everyone. Bush can't run on his record, and for a very good reason. His record blows. All he can do is smear Kerry. And when he can't smear Kerry directly, he has to smear his supporters.

as a Brit who loaths Bush I may be 'Slightly' biased, but the add seemed to be trying to say.

'Stop picking on me, and just Vote for, look at what all these people are saying about me the big meanies.' I wonder if it will be an effective campaign tactic?

Oh and the Moveon Add, does anyone know a place where I could see it? (Assuming it is not the fire Rumsfield one I am currently loading)

You know, much as Barbra Streisand is a valid target for jokes, she's a rather popular singer. I'm not seeing how putting her in a Bush ad makes any kind of argument against Kerry or makes him seem any less electable/presidential.

The putrid piece of shit Boortz is saying the left can't have it both ways when it comes to this. What a pathetic bushbot goatfucking retard~ moveon.org isn't the democrat party, and isn't John Kerry. But that so-called libertarian (rofl, the statist that he is) doesn't know any better.

It was a joke, alright?
Personally I think she's way overrated as a vocalist, but that's just a personal opinion.
Maybe I should have said the Dave Mathews Band or Neil Diamond instead of Babs?

Anyone have a different link that shows the same ad? It's not working for me on either of my browsers.

The DMB thing is a bad idea too, not good for the youth vote and there isn't really enough widespread hatred of them like there is with Babs.

If John Kerry wants to win all he needs to do is run a commercial, showing a montage of Hillary Clinton for 10-15 seconds, and end it with a voice saying "If the Democrats lose in 2004, this is who we're running in 2008. Vote John Kerry."

Why the hatred and fear towards Hillary? Does a strong woman scare men that badly?

I'd probably vote for Hil if she ran, but I'm not a man, so that doesn't really address your question.

Not at all, I think we need more strong, intelligent women like Hillary in prison.
