What if they found WMD?
Do you think the Kerry campaign would have a chance in hell to win over anyone other than the 40% who have made up their mind to vote Democrat regardless of the circumstances? My main problem with Bush is that we went in and there were no WMD ( not that I'm entirely sure that there is any way he could have known that there weren't.) This seems to be the one issue that is keeping Kerry alive in the eyes of the American people, so without it....?
Personally, finding WMD (i.e. what was claimed pre-war, not "weapons of mass destruction program related activities which could concievably be applied to a plan to start thinking about a program whereby eventually a weapon of mass destruction might come about") would restore my faith in intelligence gathering. However, it has no bearing on my opinion of the war at all.

Yeah, it's not like we're trying to get rid of our chemical weapons or anything...evilcat4000 wrote:Some people might change their mind but vote for Bush. I agree with Vympel on this. It would restore my faith on the intelligence's community to actuall -- oh I don't know -- gather intelligence. But it wouldn't do jack on my opinion on the war. I am proud to say that I opposed before it became like all popular and stuff.

Untill they turn up, it's all pointless speculation. But Kerry's having a hell of time convicing swing voters as it is, were WMDs found it'd simply be another blow.Son of the Suns wrote:Do you think the Kerry campaign would have a chance in hell to win over anyone other than the 40% who have made up their mind to vote Democrat regardless of the circumstances? They won't turn up, and if they do they'll all be in Syria. Iraq didn't have the kind of weapons we thought they did, although they did probably have a few chemical weapons.
To everyone:
I'm proposing a purely hypothetical situation, one in which whether your opinion about the war changes or not doesn't matter because we are talking about Kerry's electibility, not your opinion on the war.

Oh please. The US hasn't agreed not to have any. We can still have WMD. Iraq can't because they lost during the Persian Gulf War and one of the conditions was that they would not possess ANY WMD.evilcat4000 wrote:Some people might change their mind but vote for Bush. Newest reports about WMD?
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004 ... 4037.shtml
Reliability of this report? The fact that the site is obviously conservatively slanted should not bear any relevance on the claims. Basically, is Duelfer blowing smoke out of his ass about the shells he found?
And what is the threshold for WMDs anyway? Are arty shells filled with chemicals definied as WMD? And even if they are, then how many? Just one? Ten? A hundred?
In any case, I am quite confident that one way or the other, WMD amd similar such stuff will be found... eventually.

I believe ( I'm not quite sure) that any shell found with enough of any chemical to kill even a single person is considered a WMD.

Yeah, Kerry probably would be screwed if WMD were found.
By the way, when talking with a friend of mine on the topic of the war, I told him that there were no WMD's found, but he brought up a Fox News source as his evidence. Anyone know if this story is valid?

What if Iraqi WMDs actually are found? For a start, I think it likely that Comical Axi would die from erotic asphyxia.
