529 quietly prepared himself for the upcoming jump. Unlike many of his comrades, he was not impressed with the Commander and his foolishness.

He'd better have better control on the ground. If he fucks things up...

"Easy enough. You should know how to operate the cargo lift, it's pretty standard." Gorp replied. "It'll be almost 30 minutes." His helmet twisted around 180 degrees and he walked backwards back into the lift, as the lift raised back to the cockpit deck.

Using the intercom "Captain, for our pickup location, we are going to move at least 100 kilometers from the base. We will expect you 100 hours starting when we clear your hatch. We'll send a micro burst comm every 10 minutes for you to home in on. If for some reason we are being pursued and/or in close contact with the enemy, we will NOT broadcast and you are to standoff for 24 hours and then attempt another pickup. If you still do not recieve our signal, proceed with the rendezous with the Revancher and report us missing. If we are lucky, they'll send a stormtrooper battalion to recover our bodies. You are not to risk your ship. My unit is expendable and we acknowledge that, but you still have use to the Empire."

OOC:Unless GM objects, thought we would get things moving.

Assuming no rebel fighters come out to escort us, the Lt will lead the squad out of the ship when he sees a clear opening. If he doesn't see one by the 20km limit he'll lead the jump anyway.

Assuming everyone makes it to the ground, the squad will link up and get ready to move.

"Everybody have everything? We're going to move in a commando file(where weapons are pointed alternately left or right down the row). Order of march is 312(Sabot) and 661(Sniper) who will rotate the point every two hours. The rest of the order is 529(Assault), 454(Sgt), 114(Lt), 424(Tech with passive scanner ready), Eng, 147(Medic) and 735(SC). We're going to move out and when we are 2k from the base, we will establish a concealed camp and begin our recon."

Everyone slowly travels through the topside cargo hold, trying to avoid getting
too much garbage on their clothes, and failing miserably. Hopefully, no one
will notice that their pants are covered in rotting organic material, or that
they smell like something crawled into their underpants and died.

"Allright Everyone ready?" shouted the LT.

A chorus of "yeas!" came back.

A beep came from the intercom near the starboard docking ring's
entrance hatch.

"Fifty Kilometers, meatbags." came Gorp's voice, the sarcasm in it
simply dripping.

"Damn, I hope nobody notices we're covered in shit," commented 529.

"I didn't know you forgot to change your underwear, 529." replied 454,
to which 529 slapped him upside the head.

"Forty-five klicks, fleshsacks." came the voice from the intercom.

The kilometers steadily counted down, each mark commented by a new
insult of Gorp's, until......

"Twenty klicks, filth-masses. Get off my ship."

The LT resisted the strong urge to leave behind an "accidentally
armed" thermal detonator as a "present" to Gorp and shouted out
the traditional Storm Commando rallying cry as he slammed his
fist down onto the hatch toggle.

"TIME TO STEP INTO THE SHIT!"

The howling noise of the wind rushing by at 150 klicks an hour
filled the cargo hold, and without further ado, the LT jumped
out of the Great Gospel.

[OOC: Why you had to crawl over garbage is self evident, look
at the plans for the Great Gospel Uts posted, if you jumped
from the forward cargo hatch, you'd be splattered all over Gorp's
windshield...]

Upon approaching the base, Gorp hailed their flight controllers a second time and then ordered the ship's computer to bring the Great Gospel in for a landing. He then strode over to the lift and headed down to the belly hold to inspect the cargo and to prepare to unload it and aquire his payment.

Surprisingly, the hold's contents were undisturbed in any manner. Though sturdy, he had the munitions crates strapped down and stacked at least 30m away from the exit in case the massive reinforced cargo lift needed to be opened in mid-flight, which was the agreed upon plan. And yet not a single crate nor any of his unloading equipment had so much as budged from the expected high-winds and depressurization. Which could only mean...

The grinding sound of the landing legs extending reminded Gorp that he didn't have time to check his suspicions. There were crates to load onto the cargo platform for delivery. Gorp activated his bucket-shaped BIS-4 load lifter droid and ordered it to start moving the cargo, while he moved the repulsor sled into place.

"Nobody touches my sacred stash. Ungrateful puppets..." Gorp quietly buzzed.

Allright, since this is the first real difficult part of the mission, we'll do a
dice roll to determine how you slackers get onto the ground, in good
shape or banged up, or missing some equipment

I'll have Uts handle this part, as he has more experience than you peons
and me in the arcane arts of D6 :D

By my D6 Rule Consultant powers, I have calculated the difficulty of parachuting into a forest from high altitudes and speed (while trying to maneuver to avoid landing directly into trees and smacking into branches) as Heroic +10. The results:

XK-114 Lt. Officer Storm Commando (Deathstalker): Tumble (4D damage): Wounded
SS-454 Sgt. NCO Storm Commando (Arthur Tuxedo): Minor Tumble (1D damage): Stunned (2 sixes on the damage roll, very unlucky for the Sarge)
DN-735 Cpl. Storm Commando (NPC): Minor Tumble (1D damage): No damage
RZ-312 Cpl. Saboteur Storm Commando (NPC): Tumble (4D damage): Wounded
SS-529 Cpl. Assault Storm Commando (Rouge Ice): Major Tumble (6D damage): Wounded
SPR-661 Cpl. Sniper Storm Commando (Captain Tycho): Minor Tumble (1D damage): No damage
AKM-147 Cpl. Medic Storm Commando (ESB): Tumble (4D damage): Wounded
CX-424 Cpl. Tech Storm Commando (Alyrium Denryle): Fall (no actions for 2 rounds), no damage
John Scott Lt. Com Engineer (Straha): Major Tumble (6D damage): Incapacitated

By my almighty GM powers, I decree:

XK-114 Lt. Officer Storm Commando (Deathstalker): Various Cuts and Bruises.

SS-454 Sgt. NCO Storm Commando (Arthur Tuxedo): Knocked out cold. They think he's got a concussion, can't be sure though.

DN-735 Cpl. Storm Commando (NPC): Not a scratch, you lucky bahstid!

RZ-312 Cpl. Saboteur Storm Commando (NPC): Various Cuts and Bruises.

SS-529 Cpl. Assault Storm Commando (Rouge Ice): Various Cuts and Bruises.

SPR-661 Cpl. Sniper Storm Commando (Captain Tycho): ): Not a scratch, you lucky bahstid!

AKM-147 Cpl. Medic Storm Commando (ESB): Various Cuts and Bruises.

CX-424 Cpl. Tech Storm Commando (Alyrium Denryle): Stuck in the tree branches, and can't get down

John Scott Lt. Com Engineer (Straha): Broken Leg, must be carried by the rest of the team, unless healed and is out cold for an indefinite period of time.

Ill leave it up to you guys to describe your own character's cuts and
bruises. Perhaps you get a nice nasty scar to the face to impress de
ladies with; 'Yes, I got this scar fencing at the academy'

Sgt. 454 had the misfortune of passing too close to a tree on landing. Sharp branches severed several strings and he plummeted 50 ft, landing on his head. Luckily, his stormtrooper equipment saved him from having his neck snapped, but he was knocked out cold.

Next time, we HALO 100 klicks out and 2 klicks up. The walk would be better than the landing we just had

The Lt's left shoulder feels like someone hit it with a force pike. Pain is just weakness leaving the body! He'll gather his chute, check his gear and start organizing.

"Sound off if you are still alive." Assuming he gets responses, "312(Sabot), 529(Assault), 661(Sniper) security. 735(SC), 147(Medic) check 454(Sgt) and the Eng. I'll get 424(Tech) down."

"Sound off if you are still alive."
The sound of the scratchy radio voice in his ear reminded 147 that he was still alive, and more cogently, that he was indeed in a lot of pain.

He staggered into a semi-sitting position leaning against a nearby tree, the snow freezing the backs of his thighs as his fingers probed his joints and limbs like an inquisitive schoolboy's reconnaissance of the female body, eventually convincing him that his limbs were, for the most part, as intact as they were before he had thrown himself out of the ship's bay. Burning pain sizzled in a slash running from slightly above his right eye to above his left lip. That'll leave a mark, he thought.

"Mister Murphy'll have to try harder next time, el-tee. Checking for casualties."

He looked around the drop zone. He stared into the blackness like a dumb animal for a moment, then he plucked his night vision monocular from his pocket and activated it. Glowing figures stood out against the flat black background, tinted green in the heat-sensing device's electronic eye. For the most part, everyone had landed safely, with the exception of some genius who had somehow managed to get himself stuck in the trees.

What drew his eye, though, was a figure sprawled across the ground, leg twisted at an unnatural angle. It was the civilian comms engineer.

Damn civvies, thinking they can play with the big boys...

147 limped over to him, wincing as the sprained ankle and the wound on his face pained him.

"Hey, civvie. you awake?"

No response.

"Hey, civvie! Wake up!"

Still no response.

"Damn," he cursed. Taking the man's trapezius muscle in his forefinger and thumb, he pinched... with no effect.

Fuck...

He tapped his ear mike.

"El-tee, the comms guy is out cold. I'm commencing casualty management."

147 lowered an ear to the man's mouth, and was relieved to feel him breathing, however faintly. Two fingers found the man's radial arteries - his pulse was strong and rapid. Good sign. The neck was fine, no contusions, or anything which might indicate possible spinal trauma. Better still. There were no other obvious signs of injury, so he skipped ahead to the broken leg. Fortunately, it appeared to be a simple fracture, nothing a chemical pressure splint wouldn't fix. He tapped his ear mike again as he wrapped the gelid pack around the straightened limb and injected the setting compunds into the mix.

"Looks like he took a nasty fall, broke a leg. Not good, boss, he'll tie up at least two of us while we have to transport him. You know how a mobility kill will affect us. I'll try to patch him up, but he'll need at least one guy to carry him."

529 had sailed into some branches and gotten a few scratches on his face for his trouble. Amazingly, his chute didn't get tangled, though he did hit a limb and had a slight bruise on his shoulder.

529 shrugged it off. Could've been worse. Much worse. He took a quick look around to get his bearing, and saw a shadowy shape dangling in the trees.

Much worse indeed.

He then responded to the LT's query. "Good to go, sir."

529 then started to move over to help his suspended comrade get down without any more damage. Along the way, he passed the medic, working on a decidedly banged up (and unconcious) engineer.

Damned amatuers. He'd better not think he's getting a combat jump on his record for this.

OOC: The eng isn't a civilian, but he isn't a stormtrooper either, so he might as well as be a civilian. :o . We are also under com silence so everything we say will just be the electronic amplifiaction of the helmets.

IC: After cutting down 424(Tech), "Do a passive sensor and com sweep, make sure we are alone." He'll then walk over to where 147(Medic) is tending to the Eng. "Do what you can for him. He's pretty much out of the fight. The good news is we don't have far to go. We'll have to carry him, I don't want to have any stray emissions from the repulsor litter. Better take a look at 454(Sgt) as soon as he is down."
114(Lt) will make sure security is set and pull out his macrobinoculars and do a slow 360, and then focus on the base if it can be seen.
