what was the Eye of Palpatine i must of skipped whatever mentioned it origanly. But I would like to know.

It's what's best referred to as a battlemoon, built around the end of the Clone Wars to take out a Jedi enclave on the planet Belsavis.

What the hell was it with Palpatine and Superweapons? Was he compensating for something?

That brings something else to mind. A bunch of midget, highly mobile little dudes against a huge spheroid millions of times their size...anyone else find that first Death Star Battle a bit...Freudian?
