Jar Jar Binks...perhaps the WORST sci-fi character EVER and definately the WORST Star Wars character..even worse than Ewoks.

Any Alien movie after Aliens...how could they have sunk soooo low??

Voyager...every godawful episode was a travesty and reminded me of reading a Darkstar rebuttal to Wong.

Death of Kirk....it did NOT happen.

Star Trek Insurrection....I've seen bad TV TNG episodes that were better than this motion picture.

David Lynch's Dune....SHUDDER

B-5 Season 5...WTF?! Did JMS just walk away after season 4 and have a room full of monkeys wrote this tripe???
Wherever you go, there you are.

You forgot to add that they spent so much money on the DS9 pilot movie that they didn't have anything left to make much of the first season. So the pilot, with a couple of cool scenes, gave way to a rather booring first season.

Any King Kong movie produced by Dino DeLaurentis' company

Devlin & Emmerich being involved in the American Godzilla moive, claiming to be fans but not understanding what most Godzilla fans enjoy about the character.

That Sony/Tri Star didn't want to fork out the money for Jan DeBont's Godzilla movie (it may not have ended up being the greatest but since we've seen the alternative....).

JMS had planned on a 5 season run. However, the producers cut it down to 4 seasons. So he changed it to accomodate this. Then the producers saw that B5 was doing okay and gave him a fifth season. So JMS had nothing to really put in it because he had already shortened it to the four. So the fifth season turned out badly. Idiots.

If I recall right, he would have stopped events at Intersections in Real Time. That would have given more time for the much more interesting Earth Civil War and less for the obnoxious teeps. He had to stretch some things out longer than he intended them to be and it showed.

Not quite.

The situation was one of massive confusion. At the time that season four was starting, PTEN (Prime Time Entertainment Network), the syndication network through which Babylon 5 and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues were being marketed, was itself on very shaky financial ground. Indeed, there was the risk that PTEN was going to disappear before either series could wrap, and the producers of KFTLC decided simply to dump their planned fifth season and wrap everything up as quickly as possible. JMS began to compress his storylines so that at least his show could have closure and was racing against the clock while doing so. At the same time, he was looking for another syndicator to make a fifth season possible so that he could do the remaining material he had planned out. Up to the production of "Intersections In Real Time", it was still uncertain as to how things were going to shake out and in point of fact, PTEN collapsed into bankruptcy about the time the episode was airing. Warner Brothers finally brokered a deal with TNT to air a fifth season, and to provide the financing for an alternate 22nd episode to close out season four, since "Sleeping In Light" was already in the can and was intended as the last episode of the series. It could now be moved up and there was time to develop the last two storylines which were part of the plan. But because of the compression of the Earth Civil War arc, JMS was left with a lot of time to fill for the first episodes of season five, and things don't really pick up until after Neil Gaiman's "Day Of The Dead" and the Fall of Centauri Prime storyline gets going.

As for Crusade, well, that's down to the meddling of the idiot suits at TNT Atlanta. There were also other difficulties with Warner Brothers Television Distributors never giving JMS the level of support he really needed —due in large part from still raw memories from the bath they took over V: The Series in the 80s.

I found Boba's lines even more irritating, but that's probably because all the brat lines and incredibly high-pitched screeches.

"Is your dad home?"
"Yep"
"Can we see him?"
"Shur"
"Kill him kill him, shoot shoot SHOOT SHOOT!!!!!"
"LOOK OUT!!!!!!"

But in general, I agree. In fact I think that kids should be banned from these movies. Obi1 should have met Anakin once he was grown up, and they never, EVER should have given him the nickname "Annie".

Worst moments in sci-fi?

Sheridan getting reanimated at Za'ha'dum. Dead means dead, damnit. Bringing dead characters back to life is just a cheap trick.

Sisko calling on divine intervention to save the UFP from the advancing Dominion fleet.

The plot of every sci-fi movie ever made with a very few exceptions (e.g. 2001, 2010 and a few others).

The visual effects of every 'serious' sci-fi movie ever made, with the exception of 2001 and 2010.

Picard not infecting the Borg with the visual virus

All of Voyager.

All of Enterprise.

In science fiction rather than sci-fi:

Rama Reviled. Enough said.

Gentry Lee's Rama-universe followon, of which I have thankfully forgotten the title.

Greg Bear's Legacy.

The Rama series was brilliant right up to the middle of Rama Revieled. Then it just fell apart. And the ending just left me scratching my head. I mean why?

And Gentry Lee is a writer not to be trusted on his. He didn't do too bad on the writing but it ought to have been called Rama: Replayed. It read like the orginal trilogy with the serial numbers filed off.

Any of the shit written my John Norman

The moment Robert Howard put a pistol to his head.
The moment that Piper did likewise (I miss Fuzzy Sentients)

And Special very sad, why didn't you take Berman and Bragga moments:
When Douglas Addams, Roger Zealezney & Keith Laumer lost their last battles.

George Lucas deciding to include Jake Lloyd AND Jar Jar Binks in Episode I. Never have two characters so completely undermined a sci fi movie from the moment they walked onto the screen. Jake Lloyd looked like he was playing "let's pretend" in every single sequence, and Jar Jar Binks was the single most blatantly stereotypical sci fi character ever made. Having imperial overseers whip Jar Jar with a cat o' nine tails every now and then would have just completed the Jamaican House Slave feel to his character. Simply unforgivable.

An omnipotent being called Q introduce the Federation with a race called the Borg... Then we were introduced to a pathetic beings who walk like zombies, don't know the concept of ranged infantry weapon, have tactical ability of a rock, and the worst of all, became the most feared race in the ST universe!
