Borg Space invades the Empire

I'm Leo1. I'm surprised you didn't mention the "shroud of the Dark Side" and "our ability to use the force has diminished" to refute the common (exaggerated) whining about EU force powers.

He has since replied he has "no interest in watching star wars". What kind of idiot participates in a vs. debate without having seen 1/2 of the subject matter?

Yeah, he's a real gem, I like when how he was called out on his refusal to watch SW, he counted with "I'm not refusing, I just have no interest" or something like that. How the hell you expect yourself to have any kind of impact on a debate without knowing any of the capabilities of half of the thread is beyond me. He annoyed the hell out of me.Vympel wrote:He has since replied he has "no interest in watching star wars". And Painrack...LOL
Sigh, signal to noise is rising again..
so far, we have that old "canon overrides official" argument raised again. ThirdofFive isn't exactly a newb, but he's not helping by claiming Mace Windu feats in the Clone Wars Cartoon is exaggerated, as well as the EU force powers bit.
I like to know a hundred odd jedi defeating entire legions of droid armies, 2 Jedi Masters with a team of jedi bashing their way through several droid contingents and disabling the Droid Control Ship does not support what Mace Windu did in the Clone war cartoons.

He seems to have given up (no reply to my take on the issue).

Wrote the following reply to the new guy who argues for the Borg yet refuses to watch any Star Wars movie:
No offense, but I and others around here will grant you zero credibility in vs. debates involving the Star Wars universe so long as you refuse to watch the movies (or "have no interest" -- whatever), in effect ignoring half of the argument in which you are involving yourself. All of us here who argue in favor of the Wars side have seen enough Star Trek material to hold our own in a debate, and everyone else here who is arguing for the Trek side has seen the Star Wars movies, so they at least know against what they are arguing. So again, go. Rent the movies. Watch them. Then come back. If you maintain that you have no interest in watching them, then I recommend you butt out of debates concerning Star Wars.

Jesus, he's wearing my nerves thin. I'm glad you said something too, it's like playing a broken record over and over.jegs2 wrote:Wrote the following reply to the new guy who argues for the Borg yet refuses to watch any Star Wars movie:

"ST will be able to do X, Y, and Z!"
"Yeah, but do you know anything about Wars?"
"No, but ST will be able to do X, Y, and Z!"
Christ, I'd be pulling my hair out at this point if I didn't shave it.
Yeah- it's disgusting.apocolypse wrote:You talking about the one I posted that Peregrine seems to be taking his/her arguements from?

Yeah, I actually found it on accident while googling turbolaser speeds. I started reading it some, and noticed that Peregrine's arguements literally mirrored what was posted there. Hell, even the analogy he made was verbatim off that site.Vympel wrote:Yeah- it's disgusting.apocolypse wrote:You talking about the one I posted that Peregrine seems to be taking his/her arguements from?
