What's your system specs?

Post by Pu-239 »

Post general system information, OS, that sort of stuff.

My computer:
Processor: 450MHz Pentium II
RAM: 512MB SDRAM
Graphics Cards: Riva TNT2 with 32MB SDRAM, probably made by Creative and ATI Rage Pro, memory unknown, now unused since I can't stand tiny monitors.
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Live!
Speakers: Sony SRS-P3
Image
Internet Connection: 26.4Kb/s using an external modem.
Removable Media: Creative 8x 4x 32x CD-RW and Toshiba 32x CD-ROM, and standard floppy drive.
Hard Drive: Western Digital ATA100 7200RPM 40GB, attached to Promise Ultra 100 TX2 card.
Empty PCI slots: None
Ethernet: RTL8139 based made by D-Link
Motherboard:Redfox something shitty made in Taiwan. 440BX Chipset.
OS: Debian Linux, no desktop environment, just window manager, with mostly GNOME apps.
Printer: Canon BJ-100 B&W, highly efficient with ink (unlike the unused BJC-6000 which seems like it allows ink to evaporate).
Monitors: No-name monitor capable of 1280x1024@60, which is what I run it at. and one taken off of an IBM PS/1 capable of 800x600@53
Keyboard: Mechanical clicky keyboard taken off of what appears to be a Gateway. Veerry Nice.
Partitioning: 30GB Linux XFS, 560MB Swap, and 9.4GB Reiser3, to be converted to Windows if needed.

It's only against policy if you're telling people how to get pirated software. He's just saying that he's using pirated software, not telling you how to get it.

RAM: 512 MB PC-2700 DDR
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9500 Pro (clock lock removed)

Removable Media: Lite-On SOHW-812S (RPC hacked), Zip 250 (internal IDE), 1.44 MB floppy
Hard drive: Western Digital 120 GB
Ethernet: Gigabit, on-board chipset
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe
OS: Windows 2000 SP4 (I tried out SuSe for a few months, but was never able to get the hang of East Asian language support in KDE; I might give it another shot in the future using Mandrake)
Printer: HP Deskjet 880C
Monitor: Dell P990 19" Trinitron
Keyboard: Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro
Mouse: Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical
Other: Playstation 2 controller attached via a SuperPSJOY adaptor

Pricewatch. Hehe, hope nothing ever breaks...

Meanwhile...

Intel D875PBZLK board
P4 2.8C
1024MB PC3200 DDR (Samsung)
ASUS ATI Radeon 9800 XT (Video-in rocks)
Creative SB Audigy 2
Wish I had room for a surround set, but I make do with a nice set of Cambridge 2.1 speakers.
120GB SATA-150 hard drive (Seagate)
CD-RW & DVD (No DVD-R, I'd never use it enough to be worth it)
XP Pro (Legit)

That's the gaming rig, built it about, oh, 10 months ago. Meanwhile, the net rig and net gateway for the gaming rig...

Damned if I remember the board.
AMD 900Mhz Duron
512MB PC133 SDRAM
20GB & 120GB ATA-100 hard drives (Both IBM)
CD-ROM (Burner busted :(
Creative SB Live 5.1
Crappy speakers, they only exist for Trillian to bleep at me when I have messages.
XP Pro (Legit)

And then the laptop. Yes, I am a techie :)

Toshiba Satellite 5005
P3 1.1Ghz
512MB PC133 SDRAM
15" SXGA LCD (Beautiful screen, but sucks battery life like you wouldn't believe)
40GB hard drive
DVD/CD-RW Combo drive...that needs replacing.
Battery...that lasts all of 10 minutes. Needs replacing.
Decent set of Harmon-Kardon speakers, for a laptop.
XP Home (legit)

Phew :)

Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

I recently upgraded my core components, but haven't bought a new video card yet (waiting for more X800 or GF6800s, as well as for my checking account to recover).

Athlon 1GHz Thunderbird -> Athlon64 3200+ (stock HSF)
Asus A7M266 DDR -> Asus K8V SE
512MB Crucial DDR PC2100 -> 1GB Crucial DDR PC3200
Generic Antec-like case (circa 2002) -> Lian-Li PC-V1000B
Enermax 430W PSU -> Vantech 520W PSU
Elsa Gladiac GeForce2 GTS 32MB
Creative Labs Audigy Platinum EX
Maxtor 7200rpm 30gb
Maxtor 7200rpm 60gb
Maxtor 7200rpm 120gb
Maxtor 7200rpm 200gb SATA
(I've had excellent luck with Maxtors. They're all I buy now)
(I'll probably move the 30gb back to the old case when I get a new video card, since it'll be a great box for me to learn Linux on)
Plextor PlexCombo 20/10/40-12A CD-RW/DVD-ROM
Samsung SyncMaster 955DF 19" CRT
Creative Labs 4.1 speakers (but I've only got 2.1 hooked up, thanks to my desk arrangement)
AFT Pro-9 USB2 multi-flashcard reader (8 different slots + minifirewire connector)
Logitech MX500 USB Optical Mouse
Microsoft Natural Elite PS/2 keyboard
Removed the USB2.0 expansion card and my NIC card, since my new mobo has them integrated.

Extra networking stuff:
Netgear FS105 5-port 10/100 switch
Linksys BEFSX41 4-port Etherfast Cable/DSL Firewall Router

OS: WinXPSP1
Partitioning: C: 200GB, E: 30GB, F: 120GB, G: 60GB
A: Floppy, D: CD-RW/DVD-ROM, H: CF/MD Slot, I: MS/MS Pro slot, J: SD/MMC slot, K: xD/SM slot.

One of the selling points on the mobo I picked was that is has 6 PCI slots, upon closer inspection I'm not actually using any of them at the moment...

Goliath:

Processor: Athlon XP 3200+
RAM: 1024 MB PC-3200 DDR (Ledgend) (Dual Channel)
Graphics Card: Ledtek GF4 ti4200 64mb
Sound: Onboard NForce something or other
Speakers: Voxson 5.1 surround set
Internet connection: 128k crapDSL
Removable Media: 4x DVD-RW, 52x CD-RW/DVD combo drive
Hard drives: Western Digital 120GB
Empty PCI slots: 6
Ethernet: on-board NForce
Motherboard: Albatron KX18D Pro 2
OS: WinXP Pro
Printer: Epson R210
Monitor: 17" LG F700B
Accessories: Case window, blue cold cathode neon, blue LEDs

Gemini:

Processor: Athlon 1200mhz
RAM: 512 MB PC-2700 DDR (Ledgend) (Dual Channel)
Graphics Card: TNT2 32mb
Sound: Onboard NForce something or other
Speakers: Built into old Packard Bell monitor
Internet connection: 128k crapDSL
Removable Media: 52x CDRW/DVD combo drive
Hard drives: Segate 20gb, Maxtor 60gb
Empty PCI slots: Should be 5...
Ethernet: on-board NForce
Motherboard: MSI NForce something
OS: Linux (Mandrake 10.0) / WinXP Pro
Monitor: 15" Packard Bell something or other

Once I upgrade Goliath's graphics card, the ti4200 is going back into Gemini, then I'll have two game capable machines.

My computer:
Processor: AMD XP 3000+
RAM: 1.5 gig DDR
Graphics Cards: ATI Radeon 9700 pro
Sound: Videologic Sonicfury
Speakers: Some creativelabs 5.1 setup, 8" sub
Internet Connection: ADSL via USB modem according to the status thing : 589.8 kbps
Removable Media: DVDRW (forget the speed), 52x CD RW
Hard Drive: Western Digital ATA100 7200RPM 200 gig, Maxtor 60 gig
Empty PCI slots: about 3 i think
Ethernet: 3 com, nvidia, 1394 ( or something?), though i don't know what that one does. All onboard.
Motherboard:A7N8X Deluxe
OS: Windows SeXPee.
Printer: Don't remember, it's downstairs.
Monitors: Belinea 17" monitor, stuff run at 1280*1024, although some games i run at 1024 * 768, so it's easier to aim and whatever.
Keyboard: Some unpleasant muck encrustedterra keyboard. The keys are the good kind though.
Partitioning: 1 5 gig windows drive, 1 195 gig main drive, 1 60 gig drive from my old setup.

And now it works! Woo!
