Well maybe by other people but I have never experanced it (Of course I treat life like an experance so try to see everything at once and keep in mind whats going on around me maybe I never focus on anything long enough eh)

That is an excellent point. Lust at first sight is quite possble and normal. IMO, love is selfless and others-focused. I would readily and without hesitation lay my life on the line for my wife. That is love.

well, i think you have to see love not as an absolute thing. there´s a range on the love scala. and the minimum on the love scala can be reached on first sight.

I personally don't believe in it. My loves at first sight all were high-energy, but bombed after a little while because we realized we didn't really have enough in common to keep going.

It will happen but its the waiting that makes it special. I eprsonally have found that experienceing a great relationship and taking a long time off before the next time can actually provide a kind of clarity. Its been nearly three years since I was in a relationship (and I'm not the one-night stand kind of guy). Now that I'm out looking I find that I can enjoy myself more with that kind of nervousness that comes from being unsure of yourself. Oh it makes thigns akward but I think that akwardness makes a relationship afterwards all that much mroe fufilling. Maybe its just because I'm speaking with the ladies again that makes me say that but I honestly think that just reseting yourself and allowing yourself to fel that "first-time" kind of nervousness makes things better.

Anyway I do believe in love at first sight. I think you can just see things in people when they smile, you can see a tiny piece of their inner being (their soul if you are of a mroe religious bent like myself). When a person gives you a genuine smile it shows how they think and how they feel ebcause a real smile is compeltely ungaurded which is why I think it is one of the sexiest things a woman can do period.

It sounds corny, but it happens. Mind you, it starts out as a superficial kind of desire and grows from there, but it does happen. And it's not necessarily lust, although that should also be present. Love and lust are not mutually exclusive.

To be coldly scientific about this, love is subjective. Therefore, there is no reason for anyone else to take my own statements about my feelings for my wife as anything more than subjective prattle. If one has not experienced love, one can certainly conclude that it does not exist, and even if one has, one might very well conclude that it's nothing but a delusional state of mind. Just something to ponder, from someone who believes in it anyway
