Love tends to grow out of lust. After all, you need something to keep you attracted to her that's easily visible.
The only girl I have ever loved was a childhood friend. And nope, she's not interested in me. Damn Christian programming.

Let me put it this way there is never any way you can create a real "what if" that woudl change anything. I've been there probably far worse than anyoen here, I've had suicidal episodes in the months after bad breakups because of how much I invested and how quickly it disappeared. Basically don't let the last tiem ruin the next time. If you let the past guide you it will always remind you of the crushing weight of failure but you have to have hope in somethign as joyful as love at first sight because even if it doesn't exist convincing yourself that it does will make life more liveable.Next of Kin wrote:A few too many I'm afraid, and I always seem to be preoccupied about them.Shinova wrote:

Kelly, you misunderstand. What I mean is, when you see a hot chick, you are attracted to her. After being with her, you realize she is nice and pelasant to be around. Simply put, you feel good around her. (This may or may not be because of physical attraction). After a while, you learn to miss the way she talks, the way she laughs, you want to smack down the fool who bullies her. I think that's love. Either that, or I have been sadly mistaken.

Like some old guy said before, "How do you fall in love with a girl if she's got nothing to look at?" It's not impossible, but it's pretty damn difficult.Darth Wong wrote:I don't know if I would go that far. Lust provides the spark, which may or may not become a flame.

Well put. To Next of Kin :
My philosophy is, no matter how bad certain experiences are, there's always something in them that you can draw strength from and make yourself a better and stronger person with.
That's just my opinion, but I wouldn't give up my memories, no matter how bad they are.
<Note: The above statement comes from a person below the age of 20, so don't go so harsh on me in your counterarguments>

Oh trust me I can't bury it either. I'll let everyone in on a little secret, its called Celexa and its a SSI (a drug kinda like prozac). The images of the past are usually the stuff of my everyday life and it took almost four years of counselign before I actuqally coudl banish them from my midn. Still they do return and it is only through a VERY strenuous effort that I can keep from reliving my failures on a daily basis. The point is that you can't let those memories sotp you from living because I've been down that road and it is not a pretty sight, when I was at my worst I would go for weeks without showering, drank enough caffeine and alcohol to make me look like a pot head, and completely abandoned my studies (I was an honors student at the Univ. of Maryland's College of Engineering, one of the best in the US). Trust me if you are having problems banishing images of the past get help because they can, not neccessarily will but can, come to dominate you in a way that will really hurt.Next of Kin wrote:Well put. Piecing yourself together after a fall like that hurts almost as bad as falling in the first place so don't go there, its a very emotionally painful journey that probably will keep me from living out the life I was going to until my late twenties and then I'll be a decade behind my friends.
Now long "you aren't alone" talk aside if you ever have images creep back in about past failures slap yourself...no seriously if you start focusing on a negative past image physically slap yourself and just remind yourself (outloud or in your head) that you have a lot of success and more to come. You can actually create a sort of mantra to repeat to yourself under such circumstances (I have one), but it is effective and it will get you back into a positive mindset if things look bleak on a given night.

"Love at first sight"
What is the observed phemonon? That one person feels a strong sense of "love" towards another when first observering them
Now then this is not Love at first TOUCH or SMELL or anything like that though that might play a unconsious role
We can assume that there are few cases ever of love at first phone conversation but many of love at first site that there likley is a large Visual compont of the facts
"Love" could be termed as nothing more than the reaction one gets as a male(Or Female) when a good breeder is spoted
Ahh good person to have kids/give me kids with sort of a reaction
Male still have the *Produce as much kids as possible geans so they are more likley to experance more "Love at First site"
Riddle me this... Any know cases of Blind people experancing love at first sight?(Or meeting?)

The more I dwell and think about a past relationship the more I see how I may have fucked it up...this brings me back to the same conclusion.Shinova wrote:To Next of Kin :
