Problem with my keyboard...

Post by StarshipTitanic »

All of a sudden, the numbers on top don't come out right. Here is what happens when I type 1-0 (spaces inserted):

1 2 83 54 54 76 76 83 9 0

They keyboard is fairly new and shows no obvious signs of damage. I've tried restarting it and fooled around with the keyboard plug.

EDIT: My right arrow button also acts as a space.

Did you buy a cheapo keyboard, or one of those 'high end' ones?

It's a fairly nice Logitech, but nothing expensive.

Now that I think of it, I stupidly forgot that I spilled some water very close to it a few days ago...

Water can kill keyboards that easily? I would have thought it woud take a decent amount to do that. I spilled water, lemonade, coke etc in my keyboard over the years and it served me well.

IF you know how to take it apart, pull out the contact membranes and wipe the contact side off with alcohol. Then let them dry and put it back together.

That should fix it.
