Moore Stole Burial Footage for F9/11

The family of U.S. Air Force Maj. Gregory Stone was shocked to learn that video footage of the major's Arlington National Cemetery burial was included by Michael Moore in his movie "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Stone was killed in March 2003 by a grenade that officials said was thrown into his tent by Sgt. Hasan K. Akbar, who is on trial for murder.

It's been a big shock, and we are not very happy about it, to say the least," Kandi Gallagher, Stone's aunt and family spokeswoman, tells Washington Times reporter Audrey Hudson.

We are furious that Greg was in that casket and cannot defend himself, and my sister, Greg's mother, is just beside herself," Gallagher said. "She is furious. She called him a 'maggot that eats off the dead.'"

The movie, described by critics as political propaganda during an election year, shows video footage of the funeral and Stone's fiancee, Tammie Eslinger, kissing her hand and touching it to his coffin.

The family does not know how Moore obtained the video, and Gallagher said they did not give permission and are considering legal recourse.

She described her nephew as a "totally conservative Republican" and said he would have found the film to be "putrid."

"I'm sure he would have some choice words for Michael Moore," she said. "Michael Moore would have a hard time asking our family for a glass of water if he were thirsty."

It's been reported by the Washington times.

cant say Im surprised. Remember In Bowling when he had all that stuff about that little girl shot accidentally...remember how her parents were never interviewed? Well, go do some research on that one.

Anyway, the washington post is a credible source...and its on the news and my bro, who is in the navy, is actually the one who alerted me to this fact. I think its pretty safe to say that its not a lie, esp when they family is out there talking about it, enraged.

Point of fact: This is the Times, not the Post.

And if you have articles about the family talking publicly about this, please feel free to post them.

The fact that it may not be entirely reliable, perhaps?
irrelevant now, as white cat has posted links to major network affiliates who are now reporting the story.

That's just... Ugh... I can't even put into words how bad this is. Does he have no respect for those that died? Oh, wait, this is Mike Moore we're talking about.

How, exactly, did moore get that footage? Was it from the family's own video recordings and stolen somehow or did someone else film it and sell/give it to Moore?
Don't hate; appreciate!

Hey, this is the guy that openly boasted that he had cameramen embedded with the US troops under false pretenses to make F-911...

I’m surprised you missed this story Augustus it must have somehow slipped under your anti-Moore radar but not only does Moore have it in for lowly workers in the film industry but the evil one has also recently been “bullying” guitarists, is there no end to the mans crimes.
BBC wrote: Townshend brands Moore 'a bully'

The Who's guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend has accused film-maker Michael Moore of being a "bully" in a letter posted on his website.

Moore had wanted to use Townshend's song Won't Get Fooled Again on the soundtrack to his anti-Iraq war film Fahrenheit 9/11.

After Townshend refused, the guitarist, 59, claims Moore accused him of being in favour of the war.

Townshend said he resented the comments made by the documentary maker.

"I have nothing against Michael Moore personally... but I greatly resent being bullied and slurred by him in interviews just because he didn't get what he wanted from me," said Townshend.

"It seems to me that this aspect of his nature is not unlike that of the powerful and wilful man at the centre of his new documentary.

"He says that I refused to allow him to use my song Won't Get Fooled Again in his latest film, because I support the war, and that at the last minute I recanted, but he turned me down.

"I have never hidden the fact that at the beginning of the war in Iraq I was a supporter. But now, like millions of others, I am less sure we did the right thing."

Film request

Townshend added that his publishers originally refused the request to use the song as film producers Miramax offered "well below" the usual rate for music used in a film.

But despite offers to increase the rate, Townshend said he refused to let the Oscar-winning director use the song, because he was "not convinced" by the director's previous film Bowling For Columbine.

Townshend added: "I wish him all the best with the movie, which I know is popular, and which I still haven't seen.

"But he'll have to work very, very hard to convince me that a man with a camera is going to change the world more effectively than a man with a guitar."

Moore was reported on music website MTV.com as suggesting that some of Townshend's anger stemmed from when Moore turned down a request to make a film about The Who.

[Moore] will have to work very, very hard to convince me that a man with a camera is going to change the world

Man, this Micheal Moore proves himself to be as big a sleave and crook as the people he's attacking in his movies.

Personally, if I was the family of the solider in question, I would sue his ass off.

I'd also, if I was the US government, arrest him for putting people working for him into the army to get footage. In my view, that's almost espionage.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

So Moore’s selective editing and alleged use of unauthorised footage “proves” he’s “as big a sleaze and crook as the” Bush administration does it?

Get some perspective here Bush’s lies led to the unnecessary deaths of over 800 American service men and women, in comparison Moore has upset a few people. How can you even begin to equate him with Bush?

If that’s how you’d use your powers I’d say it’s a damn good thing that you aren’t the US government, exactly (or even approximately) which arrestable offence is Moore supposed to be guilty of? You do realise that pissing you off isn’t illegal don’t you.
