Droid substitution...

Post by The Nomad »

Let's replace R2-D2 and C3-PO with T3-M4 and HK-47. What are the various situations that would have been radically different, had the two KOTOR droid been there ? This assumes, of course, that the technology of both eras are compatible ( technological stasis... ) ie they can interface with computers and be repared with standard tools, etc...

Case 1 : let's assume that HK-47's original master was killed, freeing the droid from past obligations.
Case 2 : let's assume that Anakin Skywalker was indeed its first master.

I doubt HK-47 would have fled the Tantive IV. He probably would have stayed just to kill the Imperial meatbags.

AOTC:

When Anakin returns to Tattooine HK-47 would either be sent alone (on second thought that might not be healthy for Shmi...) or join Anakin in the Tusken slaugther.

If HK-47 had been told to stay on Tatooine and protect Shmi, there would be lots and lots of Tusken bodies fertilizing the Lars' farm's soil  . And so, the history of the SW universe would have been quite different...

1. You linked both of those to the T3-M4 page.

2. "Ready for unadulerated violence master" answer your question?

True enough. Not to mention that Watto might have had, shall we say, an unfortunate accident even before he would have been able to sell Shmi.

Substituting a peaceful protocol droid for an assassin droid with a nasty mean streak does actually make a lot of differences... I wonder what version would have been more entertaining to watch.
