My apologies. I never meant for that to happen. I will take my leave of you now.

If you love your partner, you want to be a better mate for him/her, rather than expecting him/her to be a better mate for you.

I don't think most people had a problem with your presence, Kelly.

Somebody put a boot into Nova's crotch. We likes our ladyfriends hereabouts.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

Just be careful. Kelly's well liked around here and anything that smacks of an insult of her won't fly around here.

when did this topic pop up  ... I go away for 1 nights sleep, and BAM... you guys are like rabits with topics when I'm not around... anyway, to throw my two cents in I don't believe in love at first sight... its always some underlining desire or lust that drives people to do things, never just selfless feel of utter love and comitment... to call it love is to just mask the true essence of the emotion that is being felt (and most often this feeling comes from the Hypothalamus). So I'm a cynical skeptic...

Yes, I believe in love at first sight.

I fell for my last girlfriend the first time I laid eyes on her.

Women seldom have love at first sight. Games. They prefer to play games.
Don't generalize.

Not every woman plays games.

Besides, there are men who like to play games as well.

I think women tend to be play games inadvertently. Mood swings and emotional issues can make women appear to be very unpredictable, which end up causing a lot of men to scratch their heads and say WTF?

I didn't even know my last girlfriend when she asked me out... it was quiet a surprise when she did... (... okay, maybe utter surprise that any girl asked me out... I think I'll just go and try to find the few remaining shreds of my manhood)

Even just listening can help. Wish you, the other guy and his dad the best of luck.
Thanks..I think i'll go get some sleep and try to clear my mind.
I talked to my friend again. He seemed calmed which was the opposite of almost being hysterical yesterday. I guess just listening can do some good..

Be proud of yourself because listening is actually harder than one thinks. Because you have to, for a tiem, take the weight of the raw emotions that the other person can't handle. It isn't easy and it gets less praise than it should. I wish the best to you and your friend, if there are any words of encouragement I could offer I'd throw them out now but I used most of them up back on page 3 of the thread.

My current girlfriend, well, that wasn't love, or even lust at first sight. I liked someone else when I met her and got to know her. We were friends for about 2 and a half years before getting together.

All the others that I've liked haven't been love or lust at first sight, its just been slowly getting to know them, then suddenly going... Shit, and realising I really like this person...
