My take on that would be that Wedge started off with an X-Wing squadron and in the heat of battle the squadron ended up all over the place and the squadron was re-organised to account for losses and units left over from destroyed squads etc.PainRack wrote:In the movie, Wedge led a mixed squadron of forces, that included approximately 2 X-wings, a Y-wing and IIRC, A-wing and B-wing.Crazedwraith wrote: How so? Wedge was Red Leader at Endor. Red Wing was mainly X-Wings and Wedge was Luke's friend from the Battle of Yavin? Where's the disrepcacny?
ROTJ novelization.

In the middle of a dogfight you think they're going to reorganize fighter wings? Surely you jest.

Batman, Leia said Alderaan was 'peaceful' and had 'no weapons'.
In point of fact, Alderaans leadership was involved in the rebellion, even going so far as to recruit generals of the old regime into their faction. The at very least collaborated with, likely supplied, and in my opinion manned the Yavin base. Leias consular ship was armed and fought against the representative of the Emperor in order to deliver stolen military secrets and complete the recruitment of Obi Wan. Her troops killed Imperial troops to buy time her to deliver these secrets to the enemy. The captain died to protect the rebellion.
Even if you argue that only the Alderaanians we SEE are rebels, who cares? They fought an ISD! They defied Darth Vader! They contributed to the destruction of the Death Star! How much more do you want? Are you simply playing devils advocate or what? Your obtuse 'a dozen guards doesnot an army make' comment is ridiculous. Even if they sent them to OTHER PLANETS to get trained, that training was paid for by the military!
