I think you meant military backwater (which is still as accurate as calling a submarine a big torpedo).

They are cutting our ability to fight the USSR in central Europe and hunt Soviet Subs in the Atlantic in exchange for increasing our ability to project force to lands lik Afghanistan, Iraq, Sierra Leone and Sudan.

No maybe they are incorrect and the USSR really is just pretending and that Simpson episode is correct but I think it is a good bet to make that we will be fighting more tin pot dictators than Eastern European Super powers in the foreseeable future.

While I realize that your bizarre philosophy includes the screening of all information contrary to your pre-conceived notion, you look really stupid saying this when the cuts are made to allow for two modern heavy carriers.
