Hayden himself mentioned that he needed lifts in his shoes to add to the height. He also said he had bulked up for the part as well (said the bulk was gone now though).
It startled him even more when just after he was awarded the Galactic Institute's Prize for Extreme Cleverness he got lynched by a rampaging mob of respectable physicists who had finally realized that the one thing they really couldn't stand was a smart ass. - The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. - Douglas Adams

AWESOME! ROTS. ROTS. ROTS. We will be using this acronym often. That picture of Sith Anakin looks cool. Wonder where it's from?

Robert De Niro is the poster boy for this phenomenon. His physical transformation in "Raging Bull" is the stuff of acting legend, and younger actors always keep him in mind when they prepare for a role.Stofsk wrote:It just seems bizarre. In any case, while they won't admit it, these personal trainers probably put the actors on pro-hormone regimens (read: quasi-legal steroids) in order to rapidly put on muscle mass. That would explain why so many actors bulk up and then seem to shed the extra muscle mass overnight after filming concludes. Normal, naturally-acquired muscle mass does not disappear so quickly; Steve Reeves once went a year without working out, and did not look substantially different. In other words, easy come, easy go.

They made movie posters of "Revenge of the Jedi" too. The Loews movie theatre down at the Pgh. Waterfront has one of the old ones.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Which was of course a bogus title leaked to spot bootlegged merchandise. Still, that's an awesome title. 150 times better than "Attack of the Clones".

Try four or five inches. Hayden Christiansen is 6'1". David Prowse is @ 6'5-6". Padding the costume to make him look more muscular is no big deal. Boris Karloff was only about 5'10", but to this day everyonethinks he was well over 6'. Bela Lugosi was actually taller.CaptainChewbacca wrote:Kashyyyk sounds cool, but where's Christiansen going to pick up another foot of height? Vader was gianormous.

Is raging bull the one where he gained and then lost 90 lbs?Darth Wong wrote:Robert De Niro is the poster boy for this phenomenon. I always figured they are on full-blown steroids of some type. Edward Norton put on ~30lbs in a couple months I think for American History X and he was fucking ripped. Unless the pro-hormone stuff works a lot better than I think, I think they are using the real stuff.Darth Wong wrote: In any case, while they won't admit it, these personal trainers probably put the actors on pro-hormone regimens (read: quasi-legal steroids) in order to rapidly put on muscle mass. I don't buy the "bootleg" story. All evidence points to "Revenge" being the original title until Lucas decided to change it based on the ethics he wanted the Jedi to portray. They even released a trailer to the theaters with that title (it's on the Definitive Collection laserdisc). Are you saying that Lucas would go that far in a ploy to root out bogus merchandise?Gil Hamilton wrote:They made movie posters of "Revenge of the Jedi" too. The Loews movie theatre down at the Pgh. If you truly want to spot bootleg material, it would really help your cause if the people producing the actual mechandise, like Kenner and Fox, were aware of the scheme. Otherwise, you'd just be shooting yourself in the foot.
Wow, really pleased with the title. And also on the OP link to sw.com announcement of this, I REALLY hope that picture on the left is of Anakin from the movie. Because, holy fucking shit that is a bad ass pic, he looks really menacing and evil. Really hope that is in the movie.

The title is great. the best thing i like about Revenge of the Sith is that it pays homage to the original last movie. I think Lucas loved to get here in Episode 3 ever since he had to change the name of Episode 6. Revenge of the Sith makes sense

I disagree. "The Phantom Menace" might not be the sort of name that would cause me to take interest in a movie if I know nothing about it, but it properly describes how that movie fits in with the plot, and sets the tone for the film. Without the title, it would be easy for someone who doesn't know Star Wars and isn't paying really close attention to miss the entire point of the movie, which seems on the surface to be about some little kid who ends up saving the day repeatedly, like some some damn disney movie.
"A New Hope" is just as uninteresting a name as TPM, but it also describes where the movie fits in with the others.
My least favorite is definitely "Attack of the Clones," in part because it sounds more like the name of some awful B-movie than the others (which is something Lucas was sort of aiming for, but nevermind), but principally because it utterly fails to describe the film. Yes, there are some clones, and they attack the droid army at the end, but it seems only tangentally related to the key points of the movie: the Republic is split in two, the clone army is formed, war begins, Anakin begins to turn to the dark side, and, just as if not more importantly, Anakin and Padme spend the whole damn movie trying to figure out how to produce some more Skywalkers but are really, really inexperienced and don't seem to know how to say "hello" to each other without making fools of themselves.
Revenge of the Sith, though, is definitely right up there with Return of the Jedi and The Empire Strikes Back. I don't think I want to decide which of those three I like more.

I really don't place much with the names of the movies in Star Wars. I view them more like Chapter names and in that context they do sound alot better.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
