That's disgusting, that's an absolute travesty. Alien and Predator films historically have a lot of human gore in them.

It probably means that we won't get to see any human casualties, but possibly their skulls, if not the cleaning process the preds put them through. The Aliens and Predators don't have red blood though, and only scream and roar, not swear, so we should probably see some messy stuff with those.

Although, good PG films would include Jurassic Park, that had a chewed off arm and "SHIT!" in it alot. So perhaps there's some hope.

In the Predator movies there was, but in the Alien movies there really wasn't that much human gore. The Alien movies focussed more on horror, and scaring the shit out of you. At less the first three did, the fourth one went more for the gross out factor (Ripley clones, and the Newborn, especially it's death, ouch.) and I think this is one of the reasons why people like four the less.

I'm not worried about the foul language, because they can get a way with quite a bit, and still be PG-13. What I'm a little worried about is the scare factor getting toned down.

As long as they have the "That's one ugly motherfucker" line, and lots of violence, PG-13 should be okay. I hope.

No...I don't have a way to see the prevs, and you know how, in the beginning of the prev, there's a green screen, the exact text reads, IIRc, "The following preview is rated Blah blah blah by the blah blah blah"

No, actually, it always says "The Following Preview is Approved for All Audiences" or something to that effect. The rating at the bottom is the actual movie's rating.

Speaking which.. I was unaware that the amount of slime in a movie was something that figured into its rating.

Also, lets not forget the original Tremors which had swearing, screaming violent death, a ton of monster gore (which I imagine they can get away with a lot of), and even a severed head.

Don't see the problem with a PG-13. That rating can get a way with a lot these days. I'm sure there will be plenty of swearing and violence to go around.

Well, the original Dark Horse Comic of Alien vs Predator after going through it aside from some of the language could pass for a PG-13 as well if filmed as is. Like several others has already stated, PG-13 can get away with alot nowadays especially when it concerns non-human violence. Look at recent PG-13 movies like Hellboy and Chronicles of Riddick. Both decent movies at least in my opinion, Why would AvP be any different. And besides, I wouldn't put it past the filmmakers to have the DVD version be R rated as a bonus.

The ad I just saw on Adult Swim said that it was not yet rated.

I've seen a couple other people mention similar which has of course sparked rumors of the movie being rerated.

ya know what I want to see? an action movie with a NC-17 rating, so you know that even if it is cliched it has tons of T&A at the very least.

Seriously though this movie needs to be R.

I would rather they just make the damn film the way they see fit, and then get it rated rather than trying to make it fit the PG-13 rubric beforehand.

Actually an action flim could hypothetically get an NC-17 for more than just heayv sexual content. Robocop almost got an X rating for violence before they re-edited the film, for example.

Really? How much did they cut out? Some of the "Friday the 13th" films came close to an X rating too...
