Those of you who have doubts about Hayden Christensen being imposing in the Darth Vader suit have nothing to worry about. The man who did the ESB and ROTJ lightsaber duels was NOT David Prowse. It was the films' stunt coordinator himself IIRC, and he was a mere 6'1", which is just as tall, if not shorter, than Hayden Christensen. Did anyone notice that it was a different guy doing Vader in the duels? I don't think so. No worries people.

Ooh, I saw this just now on MSNBC's crawl and a chill went down my spine. Why? Because the title DOESN'T SUCK!

I just heard in from a talking head on CNN. Suddenly I don't feel so lonely as a Star Wars geek. The Wookiee wrote:Ooh, I saw this just now on MSNBC's crawl and a chill went down my spine. Why? Because the title DOESN'T SUCK!

Since when did they ever? The Wookiee wrote:Ooh, I saw this just now on MSNBC's crawl and a chill went down my spine. Why? Because the title DOESN'T SUCK!
It might just be me, but I've never had a problem with any of them.

I wasn't a fan of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones sounded too corny. However, Revenge of the Sith sounds a hell of a lot cooler, not to mention providing a nice resonance with Return of the Jedi.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Since when did they ever? The Wookiee wrote:Ooh, I saw this just now on MSNBC's crawl and a chill went down my spine. To Gil and Phil, I checked what Lucas says in The Annotated Screenplays, and it was actually to throw off the press and media, not to spot bootleggers. My apologies.
Here's the whole quote just for reference:

While the "Jedi does not seek revenge" reason has been around for years, in 1997 Lucas said the above as the actual reason.Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays, pages 233-234 wrote:George Lucas: By the time we got down to doing the third film, we'd had so many difficulties with people trying to report stuff with the media and the press and everything that we called the film Revenge of the Jedi to throw people off. The title was always intended to be Return of the Jedi, but we made the film under the code name Revenge of the Jedi. Unfortunately, what happened is Fox started promoting the film before we could tell them not to use the title. We were lucky that they didn't start promoting the film under the title Blue Harvest, because we were using also using that as a bogus title.

IMO tacking on "A New Hope" to Star Wars was pretty weak after everyone was used to it being Star Wars. It's a war in the stars but now we're hopeful about it.Stofsk wrote:I thought "Attack of the Clones" would have been better if replaced with "The Clone Wars." I didn't mind "The Phantom Menace" but I feel it could have been worded better.Galvatron wrote:None of the prequel titles really bothered me. It's the movies themselves I hated.
So far I'd have to say that Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith have to be the two best ones.
The Phantom Menace and tESB were okay. AotC is kind of goofy.

Revenge of the Sith sounds stupid to me, personally. It sounds to...whats the word? Busy?
Rise of the Empire would've been perfect.
Anyway, it doesnt matter, really. They could call it Yoda Gone Wild: Too Hot 4 Holonet for all i care, i'm just glad it's almost nearly out Hehe, a few more (well, actually a lot more) agoniging months and i'll have seen every Star Wars movie ever made!

How can Revenge of the Sith be too busy? It's exactly the same as Return of the Jedi. It's perfect.

Of the Three titles...this one is so far the best. Phantom Menace wasn't bac but it was eh in terms of conveying any feeling, and Attack of the Clones was hokey even for a B-Movie/60's sci fi.
This one though has it's roots in the same like many SW title but at leat has panache.

How much did Hayden actually bulk up for the part?
Are we talking just a wee bit of muscle (which sounds likely) or are we talking 50+ pounds? That can make a big difference in what was necessary to use....
Prohormones are possible, but not likely because to be frank, they don't work. There's a few that have been introduced over the past 2 years that actually are effective, and some really powerful ones over the past nine months, but on average, if they're using anything, it's the real deal.
Besides, if you've got nothing to do all day besides lift, eat, and rest, it's remarkably easy

But see, thats the thing. It seemed to me that, say, Return of the Jedi or The Empire Strikes Back seemed to roll of the tongue. Revenge of the Sith sounds, i dont know, forced. It doesnt roll, see? The word 'revenge' doesnt seem to fit, in my opinion.Vympel wrote:How can Revenge of the Sith be too busy? It's exactly the same as Return of the Jedi. It's perfect.

Sort of agree with 18-till-I-die, much as I like the title, it doesnt seem to run as well - I wonder if it's something to do with the 'enge' sound? Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back both have softer endings on the first words, whilst this one has a sharper note. Pure personal opinion obviously.

Hell, I liked Revenge of the Jedi because of the 'enge' sound.The_Lumberjack wrote:Sort of agree with 18-till-I-die, much as I like the title, it doesnt seem to run as well - I wonder if it's something to do with the 'enge' sound? My only problem with it is that now half the movies subtitles are an "of the" movie. We've got "Return OF THE Jedi," "Attack OF THE Clones," and now "Revenge OF THE Sith." That wouldn't be so bad if AotC were named something else, of course, then it'd be down to 1/3rd. And Lord OF THE Rings has 2/3rds of its titles with "of the"s... "Fellowship OF THE Ring" and "Return OF THE King."
But, still... with the redundancy it kinda feels unoriginal.

Would you really have preferred "The Clones Attack"?

Thats precisely what i wa thinking, but i didnt knwo how to say it. Yes that 'enge' sound doent roll off the tongue right, to me. But yes, i agree totally.

Maybe I heard wrong, but I remember hearing how Star Trek II was going to be titled "The Revenge of Khan" and so, to avoid problems, Lucas changed the title to "RETURN of the Jedi" and then later said he liked it better anyway because "a true Jedi wouldn't seek revenge."
But of course Trek II was changed to "The Wrath of Khan" at the last minute so it didn't matter anyway.
Which movie did they use the "Blue Harvest" ruse to fool bootleggers? Was it ANH or ROTJ?
Update: Oops, missed spankster's post about the AS quote. Good call. Though I wonder if it's the real deal or more of Lucas's patented revisionism? Arrggh!

It was RotJ, and I think rather than to fool bootleggers, that ruse was used to stop idiots from hanging around the sets where it was being filmed, or something like that.Kurgan wrote:Which movie did they use the "Blue Harvest" ruse to fool bootleggers? Was it ANH or ROTJ?
