The Episode III duel: blue vs blue? (spoiler)
A conversation I was having with Stofsk the other day, and these:
Link
made me think that Anakin will be using his blue lightsabre in the fight with Obi-Wan. IMO, that's shit. Opinions?

I'd prefer blue on red, but I don't think it's a huge deal.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.

I don't mind it at all because it makes sense. Anakin doesn't use a red sabre until after he becomes Darth Vader. But we'll probably see Vader using his red sabre a little in the movie, because they have mentioned that Vader has at least one fight scene.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

This doesn't really bother me, the only annoying aspect is that it will be hard to see who is who on long shots.

Good point Spanky. I guess I just pictured the fight to be in a dark area, like in Ep2. Hopefully they'll be well lit and the fashions will be different.

I don't see any problem with it. It helps make the point that this is a conflict between two Jedi, a civil war of sorts.
Plus, blue lightsabers pwn all other colors.

And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

If so then I wonder if ROTS will have an ESB-esque 'time problem' - remember in ESB about that whole "how long did it take the MF to reach Bespin" thing? - I mean, Anakin fights Obi-wan, loses and falls into a molten pit (uh, yeah). Obi-wan leaves him for dead, but Anakin survives to become Darth Vader. My point I want to bring up is - how long does it take for Anakin to stay in medical to 'recover' and finally become Darth Vader? I mean, it has to be more than a couple hours. I wonder if the time frame in ROTS will jump internally - in other words a significant amount of time passes between the duel and Vader's 'birth'.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:I don't mind it at all because it makes sense. Just a thought.
Incidentally blue on blue makes sense. But I too wonder if it would be worth it...
They have? Awesome. Anything more specific?Spanky The Dolphin wrote:I don't mind it at all because it makes sense. Anakin doesn't use a red sabre until after he becomes Darth Vader. Yes, it´s called the Jedi Temple Purge and, no, he isn´t wearing the suit yet, he gets that after his duel with Obi-Wan and a dip in the lava pool.Anything more specific?
In other words, get used to the idea of Vader before both the suit and the name. Vader-in-suit will not be in any duel, except in the OT. And that´s everything I have heard from every insider. Vader-in-suit at the very end getting pissed of at Palpatine and wrecking things with the Force.
I´ve heard some rumor say he pulls out a red sabre at the very end of the Duel, to signify his complete surrender to the Dark Side. He then leaps out at Obi-Wan, misses, and takes a dive.
Then it wouldn't be a red sabre.VT-16 wrote: Yes, it´s called the Jedi Temple Purge and, no, he isn´t wearing the suit yet, he gets that after his duel with Obi-Wan and a dip in the lava pool.
That would be fucking stupid.I´ve heard some rumor say he pulls out a red sabre at the very end of the Duel, to signify his complete surrender to the Dark Side. He then leaps out at Obi-Wan, misses, and takes a dive.

Oh yeah, I can see that:I´ve heard some rumor say he pulls out a red sabre at the very end of the Duel, to signify his complete surrender to the Dark Side. He then leaps out at Obi-Wan, misses, and takes a dive.
"Obi-Wan: Look! A Sith elephant!
Anakin: Where?
Obi-Wan: Yoink! *steals Anakin's saber*
Anakin: Why you! But you forgot my secret darkside weapon! *pulls out red saber out of nowhere*
Obi-Wan: Oh frak!
Anakin: Die you Battlestar Galactica fan!! DIE!!
*Obi-Wan moves, Anakin trips and falls into the volcano*
Anakin: Aiiiiieee! I'm melting. Melting! Oh what a world... what a world.."
... um.. yeah, maybe not.

I was in the bookstore today, came across an Insider... it had some pics of Hayden and McGregor doing their duel on the set-- there was this bit where McGregor kicks Hayden in the guts, and he's going backwards onto the pads. Just thought I'd contribute...
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.
The picture of Anakin Skywalker on SW.com as (presumbably) a Sith Apprentice, pre-mutilation, has him wielding a red lightsaber, not a blue one. So I'd be willing to bet that it will be red on blue.
