The irony is while these silly witchhunts last, sales of even the most mediocre violent games get a big increase as people panic buy before they're banned or because of what is essentially free advertising.

Damn those media morons and political vultures. Funny really, violent videogames have never inspired a real violent thought in me. Yet these guys do.
Therefore, I say *they* should be banned.

I only sometimes wax poetic about how cool it would be if I could drive my Chevy Blazer as well as I can drive a Landstalker. That and me calling cars by their GTA equivilant. That's how much video games affect me, nothing more.

I've tried to find a source but none yet, but apparently the parents are now filing a £50 million lawsuit against the makers using a US lawyer who has already failed twice on similiar cases against video games companies.

Added to that, there is a general distate in the legal profession here for timewasting bullshit cases, and that the Scottish legal system is different from the English one nevermind the US one

Some people are in for a very rude education if they come to the courts up north.

Not to mention the nice hefty whack that legal fees will land them with.

Post script, I was appalled earlier last week, when I went to a mall, out in the desert, and found VENDING MACHINES, with R rated movies, and Adult/T18 rated games. excuse me we can't have cigarette vending machines, yet I saw a kid (13-14 at the most) try and slip a $20 into one of the DVD vending machines before I glowered him off.

what gives people?

I now really hate those "pantheon ltd." commericals offering video vending services....

If that claim was made down here, the Magistrate would more or less ask the prosectpr what the hell was he doing wasting his vaulable time with such a stupidly one sided case, and he would then wack him around the shins (the local Magistrate being a wheelchair user)

So Yes, these people should just mourn the loss of their son, they should not be turning this into a money making scheme (Yer, right...)

Well the guy was stabbedin Leicester, in England, however, it depends if claiming against rockstar would be covered under Scots law, I don't see why not.
