The anti-gay activist was just hilarious. I don't know where or how The Daily Show finds these people, but they do.

Due to the predatory nature of these homosexuals I'm finding it difficult to find a nice beautiful healthy WHITE woman."

Not only a homophobe but the Southern one two punch of a rascist as well. The guy was hilarious. Especially they way he was trying to come onto the reporter. UGH.

Actually, Bob Dole explained how that happens when he was on the Daily Show, because he said that Clinton did the same thing to him. Senate votes on large blocks of items, not individual items. So even if you are in favor of most of something, if there are a few items that are real doosies that you just can't vote for, you have to vote against all of the things on that list. Likewise, if there are a few items you really want, you've got to vote for the lesser evils on the list even if you don't want them. When you've been in the Senate as long as Kerry has, analysis of his voting record will show hundreds of contradictions, "flip-flops" if you will. You can prove that the long time Senator was for or against any issue you want, as is the nature of the way they vote.

THis may be a stupid question, but the Florida rep that Samantha Bee interviewed was an actor, right?

Generally, the people who are part of those segments are real people. I think most people do not catch on is the fact that as Jon Stewart said himself, "I've seen the ratings. (Bonilla) is not the only one who doesn't watch the program."

Honestly, politics is so rediculous that I'm having trouble telling satire from what's real nowadays.

That's what makes Daily Show so fun! Truth *is* stranger than Fiction!

It's funny, but it's also a little bit horrifying.

I think it's also a healthy dose of creative editing.

No, what's horrifying is that I trust my news from Daily Show more than anything else.

As Jon Stewart put it himself when he was asked the same question: "People like to be on the TV."

And, like Captain_Cryan, I too trust the Daily Show with more accurate news stories then the real news, and they don't even claim to be real.

Yet I am quite sure that during this convention I saw Dole on at least one punditry show. And there he ragged on Kerry's Senate records. He seemed to pretty much be hurling out the WH's tired talking points. And all I could think was, man, he should know better. Well, I guess he does. That's sad Bob.

And unlike the REAL news, the Daily Show seemes to be about the only show that doesn't take what politicians say at face value. Bonilla tried to throw talking points and Stewart's wanted him to show it came froma good or consistent source. And when he tried to say Kerry blocked 350 tax cuts, it was up to the fake journalist to try to explain to the actual senator how the Senate works. You won't see Blitzer or Woodruff expending that much effort.
