Bill Clinton on The Daily Show Monday

Post by Marksist »

NEW YORK - Bill Clinton has been all over television promoting his new book. But one show he won't be visiting is "Saturday Night Live."

The former president has turned down an invitation to be guest host of the NBC sketch-comedy series next season, spokesman Marc Liepis confirmed Friday. No reason was given for Clinton rejecting the offer, first reported by TV Guide Online.

But far from going into retreat, Clinton will sit down with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's "Daily Show" Monday at 11 p.m. EDT, presumably to say more about his best-selling memoir, "My Life," as well as global affairs and the presidential race.

This appearance comes on the heels of Clinton's guest shot on CBS' "Late Show" Tuesday, when he brought a copy of his book as a birthday gift for host David Letterman's 9-month-old son. Meanwhile, Clinton gave Letterman a rare ratings win over NBC's "Tonight Show," delivering the biggest audience for "Late Show" since last March, when Janet Jackson drew a crowd for her first post-Super Bowl interview.
Will definetely watch Clinton on The Daily Show. He was good on Letterman, but I think it should be more entertaining with Jon Stewart interviewing him.

I'd rather see Stewart interview Bush :)

Unfortunately, if such a thing happened (which is about as likely as flying pigs), his handlers would no doubt force Stewart to sign some kind of agreement limiting the content anyway.

That's a damn shame. It's a definitely amusing thought seeing Jon Stewart ripping George W. Bush to shreds live on national television...

Oh come on, you know that even if such an agreement was signed Bush would still find a way to make a fool of himself.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Knowing Stewart and Comedy Central, they'd probably just violate said agreement anyways. After all, the payoff is so high and what the fuck is Bush going to do about it? Comedy Central isn't regulated by the FCC anyways.

It was bound to happen eventually. Clinton was made for shows like Stewart's.

Given what you just said....

Did you watch a few days ago where Colbert revealed he went to a Bush/Cheney speech, and they had a form you had to sign to get in. It says, and I'm going verbatim here:

I, (Full name), herby endorse George Bush for re-election of the United States.

Yes, that's completely copied. Spelling mistakes and 'Election of the United States'.

Colbert was funny as hell. 'They've ushered in an Orwellian Dystopia.. A Dystopia I couldn't be more pleased by.' 'I.. have to Jon. They.. They have my family!'

Hmm... I didn't have to sign anything of the sort when I went to see Cheney's speech on Monday...

I doubt it's at every one of them. If Comedy Central's site will let me change my player back to Realplayer by returning the 'Preferences' button to anywhere it can be found, I'll see if that sequence is on their site...

The cigar missile causes 10,000 points of "Oh that's fucking gross" damage regardless of whether or not it hits.
