Looks like SW.com doesn't like people talking about Endor, though. I guess they don't want people to be shown that they're wrong.

BTW, is Darth Talas one of us? What about "Fortuna Cookie?"

DT is definitely one of us. I think the illustrious Mr. Poe might know him ;)

I'm not sure about Cookie, though. The name rings a bell...I'm just too deaf to hear it right now!

I'm Darth Talas. I moved the debate to a dedicated forum for the book from the VIP section, because "Valiento" was blatantly trying to inflame VIP opinion against the book. It looks like it was still too heated for the Mods, though.

I'm trying to placate JTS the mod right now, since for some reason he's been uncharacteristically neutral to me as of late. It looks like whoever "Fortuna Cookie" is has picked up on this as well.

The comment on Endor's fate is not really all that specific in the book. Its ambiguity leaves alot of openings for the Anti-Holocaust crowd to wiggle in. In fact, the total absencec of any mention of global-scale destrtuction could be arggued as proof it didn't occur, and that any hazardous debris heading towards the moon was taken care of by the Rebels.

However, it indicates clearly that the debris existed and was a serious problem. It precludes the use of planetary shielding by either the Alliance or the Empire (since the Rebels wouldn't have bothered screening the correct area if they had a planetary shield ready to go). It correctly points out that the Alliance fleet didn't even know about the Ewoks, and was concerned only with extracting their commando team. It resolves any lingering difficulties with fitting the Holocaust-scenario into the film itself by explaining how the Alliance could've been partying later (nuclear winter effect hadn't set in, yet). Frankly, it strikes me as destroying the fan-whore position for these things.

BTW, it also makes it clear that the DSII was really a mammoth 900km structure, greatly increasing the amount of debris from fan-whore estimates.

I forgot to point that out, earlier.

Seems like it. I'm actually pretty tired of their whole "don't talk about anything meaningful. Let's find out what everyone's favorite color lightsaber is" routine.

Weird. Wonder what happened to him. :?
It looks like whoever "Fortuna Cookie" is has picked up on this as well.
So, Fortuna Cookie isn't one of us, then. Hmmm... cool.

Saxton had updated his site to explain, what the mysterious AT-AR is, that was mentioned in the book.

I understand with the watts and joules, but with a shield rating so high wouldnt the TL batteries have to be a lot higher then the 1-2 TT normal stated for the heavys on and ISD, unless the time the energy was delivered from the TL bolt to the shield was increased dramatically.

Good point those ram ships could be laden with an enormous amount of explosive.

Yeah, the new Inside the Worlds points to walkers that look more like AT-PT's than the pics on Saxtons site.

EDIT: Something distressing I just noticed, in the Battle of Hoth overview. their is a scale that shows about 1.75 inches equals 10km. Well, according to the map, the point where it says General Veers fires the final blasts at the generator is about 0.75 inches away from it. This is obviously in contradiction with the accepted notion that the shots were taken from 17.28 kms back.

The posters with blue names are Mods. The posters with green names are VIPs, such as LFL employees, the posters with red names are regular folk who have signed up for Hyperspace.

Hey, I actually have the comic where the AT-AR appeared. I can't even remember how I got it. It's the Ord Mantell bounty hunter issue. The Falcon destroys it.

I noticed the following on Saxton´s entry for the AT-AR (emphasis mine):
Bipedal assault walker designed for The Empire Strikes Back but left unfilmed (at least for now).
Has this sentence been altered since the original entry? Does Saxton know something we don´t?

Pablo Hidalgo goes under the name Pabawan and Leland Chee (keeper of the Holocron) is Tasty Taste.

Didn´t it also say, that there were AT-PTs present?

Nope, only AT-AR's and AT-ST's are noted as present in the Mos Eisley overview. The walker which is pointed out to be an AT-AR clearly has two main guns and looks similar too the design of an AT-PT.

Why? While bulkier than the Executor-class, they're about the same size.
Because of their superlasers, I'd imagine.
My guess was wrong, BTW (I asked Curtis).
