So wait, could you like, take requests from us SDNetters? I can think of some pretty funny stuff I would like the entire state of Minnesota to do.

As I'm not even in the U.S, can't anything except I support you, and I can come over 2K5 or 2K6 to help give flyers away.

How's that going to fly with the local Democrats?

I'd vote for you, although it seems a lot of your positions have to do with MN rather than the country as a whole. You sure you don't want to start off in the state legislature?

Hm... what about moving all references to "Mark Berger" and running for office to the HOS... being paranoid, but what if someone attempts to use this board as dirt...

Anyways, good luck.

I wish you the best luck, too. However, before getting real with this, Mark, realize that the average costs for running for a seat in the House (not including primaries) is 675,000 $...

I wish you luck, though, I dont necessarily agree with a few platform issues. Nuclear power for example... we need MORE.

What about the War on Drugs? Will you consider making marijuana available for cancer & AIDS (among other illnesses) patients for whom conventional medicine does not work? Will weed be decriminalized, and will you be willing to go so far as to adopt the marijuana bars & cafés found in Holland?

Among American states, I can see that happening in Minnesota as much as I can anywhere. Though since he's running for Congress, he'd have little direct say over Minnesota state law, and pushing such legislation through Congress would be a hell of a thing.

Given what little I could do as a U.S. Representative as far as the War on Drugs is concerned, I am nevertheless in favor of legalization for drugs that do not create a physiological dependency.

I'm sorry, but politicicans are by definitions 3\/1|_

since I don't live in MN, what I say is irrelevent anyway, but there is no limit to whining on the internet. (yay internet)
I will fight against free government handouts to wealthy agricultural corporations and for expansion of assistance to family farmers.
Family farms are outdated, uneconomic, few and probably more mystical than anything. I'm sure by current day economic logic, there should have been a huge governmental support for hand spinned wool.

*and I wonder why protectionism never ends*
If elected, I will fight for increased funding and assistance to magnet schools, which have a proven track record of success and are a highly viable alternative to giving away our nation's education system to profit motivated corporations. I will work hard to make higher education accessible to every American through expansions of the Federal Stafford and Perkins Loan Programs. And I will work to help rebuild public schools in Minnesota and in other states to bring America's educational standards back in line with the industrialized world.
Everyone sounds alike (except the voucher "choice" people) when it comes to education policy......

I'm feeling sleepy already. (granted, I didn't sleep last night due to being locked out)
War on Terror
